VB to SMF then add Mambo?
« on: May 04, 2005, 05:31:31 PM »
I have a VB site, wich i need to convert to Mambo so i can use Community Profile Builder.

1) I noticed that SMF is mambo compatible.
2) I noticed that SMF can import VB data.

My question. Can the old VB users LOGIN to MAMBO if i install mambo, install SMF, import the VB database to SMF.

In other words, will the SMF < VB import feature also import the VB users into MAMBO ?

If not, any suggestions how i can do it ?

They should be able to, but this is more of a question for the Mambo Bridge board.

Basically, SMF will automatically upgrade from vBulletin's password encryption on login.  Assuming the mambo_login stuff uses the same methodology, this will work fine.  If it doesn't, it can be easily modified to do so.

As they log in to SMF, they will be imported to Mambo, to my understanding.
