this is the last build with new features right? so mods from here on should be compatible with the gold release right?

This is the last 1.1 release that had major new features. Complete feature freeze will be when RC1 is released. But even after that, significant changes can be made. If versions weren't different, there wouldn't be any need to release different versions

well, i guess that's true, but my major concern is any major database changes. I won't be modifying the code much, mainly the database.

i love the previre that you get when editing the CSS... that is one of the main reasons in whch I have been waiting for the public release so I can edit themes easier

Probably won't cause any issues unless you have an accelerator installed such as mmcache or eAccelerator.

If it's using the caching features, it will come up with call to undefined function cache_get_data and won't do anything but give that error.

You should be relatively fine then, depending on just how much you modify.  SMF upgrades are meant to leave as many database modifications as possible intact.

If you mean Simple Machines  smilie set, its not going to be released. Those are similar http://www.stylesdb.com/smilies_style.ichat_smilies.html , you could use them.

    Unknown column 'restriction_type' in 'field list'

The upgrader needs DROP and RENAME permissions.  It won't work otherwise.

My users are still saying they are getting the error:

Tell them to clear their cache.

Well, I assume you've made a backup, right?  If so, drop the "smf_banned" table.  It is not used in 1.0.

Update went great once I got to it, anyone who seen my pages of errors, ignore them, that wasnt an SMf issue, more of a Trekkie trying out some stuff.

I just upgradce to 1.1 beta and everything is perfect. Very good version.
But now I have a problem with my chat. I use the user and password of the forum database to enter the chat but now the password is not acepted. I think that I need to change something in the password encryptation.
