Why is it so difficult in using ordinary way in SMF Admin CP? Just create a new category, select first place and tada... The new created category is in the first place.

I am not sure with pretty url but you should consult the mod author whether the mod works or can be adjusted with PortaMX Subforum mod.

Maybe it is because he needs to add some patchs to have that working...
I do not remember on wich version was working the SMF forum sorting... if it was added to a public version... if not, Im pretty sure Feline have added it on the main pmxsubforums forum http://portamx.com/pmx-subforums/
As at least 1 or 2 patchs to other issues

Sorry to not search for it (in fact, I was the one that told feline about this issue)... I have not time now

Oh, btw... all that was mentioned on this thread... it will be good to give it a read too (at least the last pages)

That may be the problem. All the latest files have to be taken from the github here: https://github.com/PortaMx/SubForums-1.40.

There are also some new feature / request (by me) which are not implemented and uploaded to the github. That you have to manually add to the files especially subforum.php file.

Indeed, one have to read and/or ask in http://portamx.com/pmx-subforums/ to understand more about this mod.

This mod seems VERY interesting to me. I installed 1.40 and now I'm willing to set-up.
However I don't succeed in the set-up part.

My situation:
bimmerboard.be/forum --> main forum (bimmerboard.be gets forwarded to /forum)

nl.bimmerboard.be --> this should be a part of the main forum and language dutch
fr.bimmerboard.be --> this should be another part of the main forum and language french

bimmerboard.fr --> this should be forwarded to fr.bimmerboard.be

How to set-up DNS settings en how to set-up the settings in subforum manager?

Forward is not possible.

My settings of dns:
Domein                   Type            value
fr.bimmerfoto.be   Web alias           bimmerfoto.be   
nl.bimmerfoto.be   Web alias     bimmerfoto.be   

The settings of the subforum manager attached.

What happens now:
If i go to bimmerfoto.be/forum i see the forum (full index)
When i go to nl.bimmerfoto.be i go to the index (not the forum) but the index of the main folder of the server
when i go to nl.bimmerfoto.be/forum i go to the forum, but not the subforum but the full index, which is not correct.

I would like to have nl.bimmerfoto.be (without having to add /forum!) to be linked to a part of the forum (subforum)
and fr.bimmerfoto.be to another part.

What am I doing wrong

I don't known the tool you use to created the domain alias.
As I known, have CPanel a settings for domain alias, also Plesk, what I use.
So I can't say what's wrong ...

I Just installed the 1.41 version...
Forum does strange things now.

When going to index and wanting to click on a link, it directs me to localhost/... instead of bimmerboard.be/...

Any idea?

Things I've checked:

1) I've checked settings.php and run repair_settings.php
2) I've uninstalled PMx subforums, the manual way (looked at the parser: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=parse and undid everything manualy)

But the issue is still the same:
any link on the index refers to localhost/...
Going to the admin section requires loging in and that doesn't work.

Any suggestions please? The forum is down because of this

The links on the index.php are not changed. The links are created dynamically on request a subforum.
And I can't give more help as I say above, because I don't known how you create the domain alias..

Maybe I should give some more information:

At first I installed the 1.40 version on my test forum. Other than 2 small problems the install went OK. I still have the subdamain forums not working, but however, the forum is still OK.

Now I installed the 1.41 on my real forum, and this install went without errors. But however now my forum is screwed up. The index is still working, but EVERY link/image/... is directed to /localhost/... instead of bimmerboard.be/...

What I tried to solve this:
1. I removed every change this mod made to the file (undo manualy using the manual parser)
2. overwrite the edited files from the backup before installing PMx subforums

I believe it has nothing to do with the source codes, but that the database is screwed up or something.

Do you have any idea?

Hi, I need help again with this

So, when subsolo.pt was my main domain, everthing worked fine, I had 10 subforuns that worked like a charm but then I changed my main domain to a faked one and now I use only the Addon domains, and thats where the problem came...

Obviously that the subforuns didnt work because they were still pointing to public_html and the folder was now in public_html/subsolo.pt so I changed but still... nothing...

www.subsolo.pt is working fine but the subdomains http://electronica.subsolo.pt/ http://bluejazz.subsolo.pt/ etc... dont work anymore.... any ideia what that could be?

Also tried to unistall and install the new version it gave me an error when I try to access the subforum from the admin panel 'Impossible to load the themplate 'Subforums/Subforums'.'

I already fix that part, its just to let people know if this error happen is a problem in the Subs-Db-mysql.php and/or Subs-Db-postgresql.php
