Topics disappearing on new server

I've copied my SMF files and database to our new machine and I'm seeing some very odd behavior...

When a new topic is posted, it doesn't show up in the topic list at all.  On the list of board, it shows up as the most recent topic, but if you click on the topic name, it just redisplays the forum index.  Also, when a reply is posted to a topic, either the message index shows the wrong poster name and post time, or the entire topic just disappears from the message index.  Any ideas?
