You saying it's available for download from sm.org?

* Shambles wanders off to have a look for himself, and wonders how sm.org has obtained a redistribution license...

Aahh I see a Tapatalk staff member owns it.

My mistake. I take everything back, but now wonder why there are suddenly two distribution channels  ::) Such confusion could arise from this. Oh, hang on...

And it's completely out of date...  :P

Quote.........as Display.php has never featured as part of a Tapatalk forum app installation (I have all the old versions to check that fact)

Hi Shambles - if you look at the version in the mods section here you'll see that it was (certainly in v.3.2.3)  ....and thats the version Glenn has...  ;)

And was downloaded from here, possible that some one hacked the package?

Storman™

Nah, it's just an older one I think..

I'm guessing that the member Dragooon might have made his own version some years back but the app has since moved on. Not sure, as I don't know the history behind the version on here.

In any case I'd strongly advise using the latest version from the actual Tapatalk site.

Shambles

Well it's confused the hell out of me, and makes some most of what I've been stating completely irrelevant.

I thought that only Tapatalk.com issued the forum app plugins. I hope someone at sm.org sees this thread and considers the validity of keeping a parallel channel running for this plugin.

Arantor

This has nothing to do with sm.org.

Who do you think made it available in the first place? (i.e. who posted it)
Holder of controversial views, all of which my own.

Storman™

Dragooon seems to have had some sort of involvement with the original package on sm.org back in 2010. After that it gets very confusing.

Arantor

He helped them write it, but ultimately they're the ones who published it here.

So will appling the newer version clear up my problem?

Storman™

You need to get rid of this version first, the two versions do the same thing slightly differently.

If Tapatalk is the only mod thats amended Display.php then effectively you could simply ignore the error, uninstall it, and then replace it with a fresh copy. I'd be inclined to cast an eye over it first though so post it here when ready.

I have to admit my complete ignorance on how to do this.

I know you told me to either use FTP and download it or maybe take a copy with the file manager in cPanel. I do not have access to the CPanel as yet, the owner of the board does and only access the board once daily.

Can you give me step by step instructions on how to do this with FTO (I do have admin rights)

ApplianceJunk

Access the files via FTP most likely will requires the same login (username/password) information as the cPanel.
Unless who ever has access to the cPanel has already set up a separate FTP account for you.

GlennLever

Ok, I have purchased SmartFTP

I have requested a signon and password to the host.

I will get back to you.

Nothing I can do until I get that?

ApplianceJunk

Guess I don't fully understand the situation of who owns what with the forum you are trying to get tapatalk to work on.
You pay for the hosting account, but don't have access to cPanel?

btw: there are lots of good free ftp programs around.

Shambles

CoreFTP is free and excellent.

Yes, you will have to wait for your login credentials...

I am now armed with url, user name and password also have DB name user name and password

I looked at CoreFTP and could not figure out what needed to be downloaded.

Loaded SmartFTP logged in and could not fine ./Sources/Display.php

ApplianceJunk

Do you see any of the SMF files?

GlennLever

No and I am now also on the CPanel for the site

there is a categor called files, icons for disk space usage, FTP Accounts (which sets up account), FTP session control and Annonymous FTP

I was expect to see a structure like what you see when you explore in windows
