@ sam_milla: if the one file is not there then it was edited when you installed the mod. If you do still have the mod installed then just add the tower code to the template files. The mod will still work even if all the code is not in the template files.

@ Sharkonis:  Why is it not compatible. ???

Is it compatible with SMF 2.0 Beta 3.1 Public???

Nugget

I have the Ad software installed and can see the ads when logged in as an Administrator.
But the ads are just not there as a user.
I've checked the settings - I do not have the option under board permissions or any other settings to enable ads in specific boards or user permissions.
The only options I have are under the Ad Management setting.

Can anyone suggest what might be the problem?

Thanks

Which template file do i have to ad  the google ads code to make it appear at the right side of the forum homepage. ? and where exactly am i suppose to put the code. i mean after which code like </body> or </head>

Bigguy

You need to check your permission settings again.

@ sam_milla: Try using the mod parser that is built into the mod site to get the code. All the code is commented to make it easier to find.

I'm not sure what to do, I installed ad management version 2.3 for my SMF version 1.1.5 board, followed the info on this page: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=parse

And think i'm now stuck and hoping i at least didn't replace anything i shouldnt have replaced.

What to do?

Bigguy

Did you install it and then do the manual edits ONLY to the 4 template files it mentions when you parse it. ???

userfriendly

Yes. I think it's because I don't know exactly where to add the codes in the template im using (classic yaab) why it's not working. The guide only seems to show for the default template.

Bigguy

The parser shows the edits. All you have to do is find the code it says to "find" in the files. Now take note that some of the code you have to find might not all be there in your custom theme templates. So if you can't find the exact code search for parts of the code you are supposed to find. Then try your best to match up the code you are supposed to add with where it is supposed to go. If you can't get it after a few tries I will see what I can do for you. :)

userfriendly

Yes, ads show in the default. Did try matching as you suggested.

Ok will give this another shot later and report back, but last time I tried, let's just say the forum took a sudden break :O

Afro

Thats exactly what i am experiencing too.
The ads perfectly showed up on the defaul theme.
But after editing the three template files...

Indexteplate.
boardindex.template. and
Messageindex.template files,
The ads didnt show up on the dilber mc theme.
....i am sure i am mising something.
I thought of copying ADS.english.php to the dilber mc language files but there is nothing like it there.
The Sources i guess are the same.
Any help will be appreciated greatly.

I am not sure i understand the question, if it was actually for me...

what fix do u mean pls?

userfriendly

So I had success, at least some. ads show at the bottom and at top, and no where else which means the other codes were not placed correctly. Anyway, i'm just going to work with those ads for now, can't deal with messing it up completely again.

any one else having problem just make sure to leave the template for last, it just takes patience.

Now, how do i Make ads not show for Administrator? Seems I cant edit permissions.

Afro

I can tell you that....go o admin cpanel >> ad management  >> settings >> Disable ads for admins...
check the box and save.  thats if you are using ad management ofcourse.

meanwhile, which template files did u edit on the yabb theme for the ads to show up..maybe it could he;p me on my dilbermc theme.
mine is showing up only on the defaul theme.
i used the global header and footers to place ads on the forum but i need the tower right ad so i can disable other ads.
if i knwo where to ad the google adsense codes on the template file for the tower right ad to show up, i could just go with it and forget the ad mod thing.

Anyone have a suggestion for the "duplicate ad" problem yet?

In my case I deleted all duplicated code in MessageIndex.template.php

delete all duplicated code

Kat9119

I want to install this for 1.1.5 using Backnblack theme. However, I find that I'm missing the following files

Display.template.php
MessageIndex.template.php

Any advice?

Bigguy

If those files are not in your custom theme folder than they were already edited when you installed the mod. All you have to do is edit the other two templates the mod lists if they are in your custom theme folder.

I haven't installed the mod yet. I was just backing up the files that were going to be edited, and noticed that I don't have those files.

Currently I only use this theme, even though others are in there. Within the next month or so I'll be adding a 2nd theme.

So, what will happen when I go to install this since those files aren't in my theme?

Bigguy

All mods that you get always and only install to the default theme. So when you install it; even if you have a couple themes installed it will still be installed on the default theme. All you have to do is do the edits to the template files that exist in your custom theme folder. :)
