The code was not in the template file right. I have re done it and it seems to work now.

I already had my Ad Management Mod working with my Dilber MC and Black Day Themes on my 2 forums except for the parse error for the following set of codes in my index.template.php:

Whenever that complete block of instructions for the Welcome Ads is included in my index.template.php file, I always get the parse error. I have 2 forums namely allpinoystuff.net and ocnhs.net using Black Day Theme and Dilber MC Theme respectively. As a result, I have removed the codes above to make my site work. I have attached the index.template.php and screen shot of the error in my allpinoystuff.net website here.

Yes it should work on 1.1.4

Does this mod work on 1.1.4 (new install)?

I heard it works if you were using it on SMF 1.1.3 and then upgraded to 1.1.4.

Those edits for the managePermissions.php file will have to be done manually. Perhaps another mod has altered that file.

Im new using SFM 1.1.4

If you are using any other Theme but the default then edits have to be done to your custom themes template files.

I uploaded the files successfully and placed the html for the add, followed all the instructions and the ad is still not comming up. Could it be a conflict with my theme?

If your referring to the background of the ads you will have to check with your ad provider.

So weird...I have several mods installed on my SMF 1.1.4. Before I install the PayPal Donation mod, the Ad Management installation would come back with a couple of error messages. However, after I intalled the PaypalDonation mod, the Ad Management mod would install fine...

Can someone tell me why is that, please?

Each time you install a mod it edits the code in the files and moves it around a bit. That's why some mods will install with others and some won't. However the ad mod should have installed fine before or after the donations mod; it shouldn't have mattered.

You were missing part of the code for the edit you mentioned. I just replaced what wasn't there.

I tried to install ad management mod on my forum at: http://www.petroscrap.com/forum but it says:

An Error Has Occurred!
You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable!

I made temp folder with chmod 777 in packages but it did not worked. I chmod all the files which are mentioned in the first page of ad management mode but still it did not worked.

Please some one help, I will be so thankful to you.

Try going to the options section of the package manager and making all files writable; that should work.

go to admin and set your language to english

Having the same issue as the user above, the ad menu isnt being displayed in the default theme for the forum. Is there a specific template I should be using for this to work correctly?

First of all, thx for this nice MOD ... !

I have a problem and hope that u can help me. I have installed ad mod 2.3 on smf 1.1.3. I have not installed (yet) any other mod on my smf, that mean that all files are clear. I try to modify themes like Fg-zm 114 or Pn-pn 114 or MysticJade but no success. In those themes are missing some codes and i don't know how to modify the source of those themes, to work ad mod on them.
Can someone help me? Someone who can modify those files for me, please?

fg-zm 1.1.4 and pn-pn 1.1.4  needs 4 files to modify
- boardindex.template.php , index.template.php , messageindex.template.php and display.template.php

MysticJade needs only one file to modify , index.template.php !

Please, help me!

P.S. I have tryed to modify them reading support post for Theme Modification on smfads.com but no success!

Umm yea.  I installed it.  Said it was successful and yet I can't see it anywhere.  I hit the other site for help but nothing.  Nowhere have I seen any detailed information as to how to get this to work or even show up. Sooooooooooo.......what now?

I have installed the mod on my forum hxxp:freecpanelhost.net/forum [nonactive] , as I have done on other forums I have owned, but for some reason the ads won't show this time. I have set the ads to show after the 1st post, and also to show under the menu. As you can see from my forum, it shows the post box liek it should after the first post, but it doesn't show the ad, and it doesn't show at the top of the forum either.

Any idea what might be goin on? Like I said, I have used this mod many tiems before, but it just won't work for me this time

Okay, it worked for me too.  i guess my hosting company need to update there SMF installer.  i downloaded a fresh copy of 1.1.4, installed it then installed the ad management mod, and it worked great.

I got it right too,  It is working nice.

Pls is there any other theme Ad Management mod can work it besides SMF default theme? let me know I beg all

Different options of this mod seem to work in different themes.  For example I run the Tolkien theme and most of the ad placments work but a few dont so if the ones you are trying dont work, try others.

It doesn't seem to work with SMF 1.1.4 (Update from 1.1 RC3).


ManagePermissions.php is the only file that is failing to be modified through the Package Manager.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
