My adverts do not show up on any theme other than the default core theme...

Is there any way I can get it to work? Perhaps a piece of code to place in a certain file?

Bigguy

You have to add the ad mod code to the template files that are in your custom theme. If you have a BoardIndex.template.php file in your custom theme folder it must be edited, if not it was edited apon install of the mod; and so on for all the template files that the ad mod edits.

Please dont think Im hassling anyone but is there likely to be a version for 2rc1 in the near future ?

Bigguy

I have heard that something is in the works. I don't know when it will be ready though or if it is even close.

I have this package running on 1.1.8..

I'm using an adsense tower and have this positioned on the right hand side of the forum (checkbox).. it shows right at the top right which is perfect.

Now the question is it possible to stack another add, say an amazon stack underneath that adsense tower? If i put the amazon stack on and click the right hand side checkbox, it overwrites the adsense ad, and you only end up with one tower. I had assumed it would just stack them but this does not seem to be the case. Is there any way of doing this type of ad stacking?

I dont know about stacking but if you notice they will cycle. if you look at the page you have them on and refresh it will choose what shows there randomly. http://chforum.netau.net if you go there and look at the bottom just keep refreshing and you'll get different ones almost every time

I have to admit to being a tad confused.

When I clicked "Parse", for manual install to v1.1.8, I got "Sorry, but this modification does not appear to be compatible with the selected version."

Is that correct?

Bigguy

It doesn't overwrite it, it rotates the ad on page refresh between the two that are locked in for that position.

@ Kat: I get the same thing. Wonder if its a problem with the mod or the parser.

kat

Dunno. I installed it, anyway. Seems OK.

I'll just have to figure the manual edits from the script, I s'pose.

Cheers you are ofc correct i've played about and that is indeed what's happening it swabs between the two.. Now my next question is probably obvious then.. is there no way to show both at the same time on the right hand side? or is this impossible? The forums quite large and has a lot of space to fill down that right side :)

check out hxxp:www.enlightenedequitation.com/ee/boards/index.php [nonactive]  to see what i means..

Bigguy

Not impossible I don't think but would require a bit of extra coding.

Not sure if this is what you mean but if you want an AdSense tower ad and below it a amazon ad, you do not need two stacks of tower ads. You can put them both in the same unit, with the code of the amazon ad just below the adsense ad and maybe a small break between them.  I have done it many times.

Sgt Rock

I downloaded it, installed it and it is not showing up anywhere. Any ideas? default core. 1.1.8.

You say you had a permissions error on install. Was this with uploading the mod through the package manager or it failed one of the edits during install. ???

Quote from: goodman854 on April 28, 2009, 10:36:32 PM
ya mine doesnt work. Premission Error on Install. Going threw makes only the admin see ads.
I just downloaded the package and hit apply mod. Error in Modfication of Permissions

dru1487

Anyone now how I could display ads under my News fader?

Bigguy

@ goodman854: What file does it error on when installing. ???

@ dru1487: Moving the code around a bit comes to mind. I have not looked at the ad code for awhile so I would not be able to tell you off hand what part of the code needs to be moved but it would work.

jonnyfishboy

I added this Mod.

It gave me an error on the Sources/ManagePermisions.php. So I parsed the mod (My board is v 1.1.8) and added the code manualy. I also confimed that the Ads.php, Loadads.php, AdsTemplate.php, & Adsenglish.php were placed into the right location as they were not checkmarked. They were in the right folders.

Now I go into admin section and Look in the configuration area but do not see the Manage ads link????

I tried in the default theme as well as my custom theme and do not see it. Any ideas???

My board is www.clickstars.info

Bigguy

Check the edits for the index.php file I think it is. (just a shot in the dark really) It has been awhile since I played with the ad mod. :(

Do you mean default/index.template.php? Thats where all the code is for my custom theme.

Cause in the default/index.php theres nothing there, only
