Hello,

I tried to follow the guide to install the ad mod on my custom theme which is Red FS  Most edits matched up perfectly but several in the index.template.php file do not.  I am getting a parse error and this only occurs if this file is uploaded to the server.

Interestingly I found that ads are working if I don't upload index.template.php.  Without it, using the default file my site is loading up just fine with some ads.  I don't get the ads in all of the locations that the Ad Management configuration panel says that they would be available, these include:

1. In every page right below the menu
2. On the post page
3. On every page at the top of the page
4. In the welcome user area
5. On the bottom of the page
6. As towers on either the left or right side

But I am getting them on the board index and message index, after the last post and also within posts.

I am assuming that if I modified my index.template.php file I would be able to place ads in all the places I listed above where they are currently not.  So If anyone would be willing to help it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm attaching the index.template.php file, help with the edits would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Bigguy

@ eflat2130: Check the template files for duplicate code from the ad mod.

@ docprego: I checked the file you posted and did not find any parse errors.

Thanks for checking but I wasn't clear.  That file does not have the ad management mod edits applied to it, it is the unedited file from my theme which is Red FS.  I attached it hoping someone could apply the edits to the file because I couldn't figure out how to do it.  The instructions for manually installing the ads mods don't match up with my file because the areas the instructions say to find are not the same in my index.template.php.  In other words I can't find those places so I have no idea where to apply the edits that the manual install instructions say to.

If you could help me with those edits (I'm not sure where to apply them in the file) it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Bigguy

No time right now but maybe later today, not sure though.

Hello,

Hoping for some help.
I've uploaded all the files with no errors, installed and applied the mod, checked my forum language for english-utf8 language and am running in the default theme and still I am not seeing the option for Ad Management under the Configuration Heading.  I am using version 1.1.10

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Rod

I have the mod working on my default and one other custom theme but I'm having trouble installing on my custom theme called EOTS DZINE MC25. I just get a blank gray block on top mixed up in the header. I have checked the templates twice and can't find the error. Thought someone might know where I made my mistake by the pic. Included are the pic. of problem and the templates I have edited. Can someone please help with this and tell me what they change? I need to learn this stuff.
Thank you,
Scott

Thanks....I switched the language to strictly "English" and that did the trick.

Thanks for the help.

You're welcome.

chevydrvr

I cant get it to work on my custom theme. Ive tried everything.

Bigguy

edit the template files. Use the parser to show you the edits.

rodrico101

Now that I have it working on the default theme, just need to modify my modified template theme.
The template files are quite a bit different than the default file, may take some work.

I changed everything. It's all the way it should be. It still doesn't work.

Bigguy

Any errors in the error logs. ???
