Missing either the link in the admin.php in the sources folder.

Or you need to clear your cache under forum maintenance to have it shown.

Okay, thank you for responding.

I figured out the problem. For some reason, the file permissions were all messed up, not allowing anyone to "read" the uploaded ad management files.

Once they were fixed, the settings/options appeared in my left menu. Phew. Thank you very much, it appears all is well now.

I do have one more question, if you have the time.

I'm wondering if I can somehow delete the older file that is in the "packages manager" - can I physically delete it from the packages directory using FTP, or will that mess things up?

Thanks for your help, again!

vbgamer45

Yeah you can remove older packagess that are not installed without any issues.

I have been trying to download Ad Management mod 3.0 for over a week now (Feb 2012), when I click on the download link I get the following error message every time.

Temporarily Unavailable
Due to high stress on the server the forum is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.

Is there an estimated date/time when the download will be available?  I also gave the SMFHacks site a try but cannot seem to even locate it there

After installing, I cannot see the ads in Fire Fox 10.0.2, but I can see them in IE and Chrome.  I have disabled AdBlock Plus for my site, but that didn't work.

Any ideas?

Give an url to see it in action, describe where is the ad located

I've been using the Ad Management mod for a while on my 2.0.2 SMF forum and just noticed an issue.  Always had Google ads displaying at the top of every page under the menu, but tonight I tried to put a custom ad in and make it display on only certain forums at the top under the menu but it won't display.  I got the ad to display on every page if I don't list specific boards but if I put any number in the "Which boards should this ad display in" category, it doesn't display anywhere.  I've removed all other ads to make sure there's no conflict and it still won't show up in specific boards.

I will note that I'm running the Silent Wave theme but this is the first issue I've noticed with any of my mods.  I have installed the most recent version of Ad Management, as well.

Any help?

type first a text content in the textarea where you put ads in this mod then find the text you put in the ad content. if you find the text then i guess the problem is in the ads you put.

I may not have explained my issue and troubleshooting so far clearly.  I can get the new ads to display, whether text or a picture-based ad I've created.  As long as I leave the "Which boards should this ad display in" category field blank, they show up properly wherever I tell them to display (top of page, bottom of page, etc).  It's only once I put a board number into this particular field that the ad stops displaying altogether.  It's almost as if once I enter a board number or numbers into this field, it just turned off the ad altogether.

Again, I can get both text and picture-based ads to display as long as I leave them on for all boards/pages across the site.  Any thoughts?

EDIT:  I'll also note that I just attempted to uninstall the package and reinstall it to make sure I'm on the most current version and there are no errors, but I received the following errors when trying to uninstall (I have not completed the uninstall as I'm waiting for advice on how to proceed):

Hi all, my forum has become extremely busy and it's time to monetize it http://www.fattoskinny.net/index.php I'm using 1.1.16 AND a custom theme. Before I download the package can you tell me what steps I'll need to take to make it work with the theme I'm using?

Thanks in advance

vbgamer45

SMF 1.1.x you would have to install it manually on any of the custom template files that is mod edits but just install it normally then apply edits to your custom theme.

OK, is there a set of instructions with the package explaining how to make those manual edits? Also, I see 2 different packages to download, which one is for my version of SMF?

Thanks in advance :)

Doug

vbgamer45

The package should say either SMF1.1.x or SMF2.0.X in the filename manual install instructions are on the mod page.

Downloaded the package and now it's time for the manual edits. Am I editing the files within the root folder or within the themes folder for the theme I'm using?

vbgamer45

Just within the theme folder for your custom theme.
