Re-upload the sources directory and the forums should come back.

jmphillippi

I tried that and no go...... >:(

I also renamed the sources folder and then uploaded a fresh copy of sources in its place then upgraded again and it still doesnt work.!!!

Trekkie101

Try uploading the entire SMF 1 package, download it from the dwonloads page and replace ALL your files with this new set and it should be gone.

I bet it's template files.  Can you try going to:

http://www.example.com/forum/index.php?theme=1

If you haven't modified the default theme?  Otherwise, upload the default theme...

Thank you that theme=1 was the trick I needed.  I couldnt access any page until then.  Thank you all for your help.  :)

Mods don't usually edit the classic theme ;) ?theme=2

First, I just want to say Great Work! SMF is very nice - I've been running it for about 3 months on various sites and it's been smooth as silk.  :D

Next, I run the upgrade - everything was successful and went OK. The only problem is that I see this error message at the top of all pages:

QuoteWarning: set_error_handler() expects argument 1, 'error_handler', to be a valid callback in /home/<path>/forums/index.php on line 109

(removed actual path)

Other than that, everything works fine. Any ideas?

Installed itand it works great....Not much changed on first sight..... (but I'm just a n00b, no code-checking here..... :) ).

What strikes me that in the Statistics part the number of hits on my forum has been lowered for today....Did the counter start over upon updating????

jorgen

Looks very nice so far.  (But even the betas/rc vas nice).

One funny thing though. By board still reports rc2 after upgrading.

Did you run the upgrade.php? It should say SMF 1.0. once you run the upgrade script.

Yes.  And I just noticed that it is only when run in the smf-mambo bridge that it says rc2. As standalone SMF it says "SMF 1.0" as expected.
Go figure.

This detail doesnt worry me much.
I'll head over to the mambo bridge sub-board and report there.

Looks like one of the files (specifically Errors.php) wasn't uploaded properly.  Can you please try uploading it again?

The Mambo bridge still reports itself as being RC2...

While I'm not sure of the fix for that off hand, I know that IE and FF can at times display font sizes differently. There are CSS hacks for this though. Whatever you do, don't use <font>! It doesn't exist, forget it ever did! ;)

Also, check from a few other computers, is your IE just set at a differnt font size in the program itself? (view->text size)

in the theme I replaced the text sizes small, x-small, etc with the actual values I wanted (8pt, 9pt, etc). .. it worked but I was told its not right ;)

and i had been using <font> for the longest. guess i need to change all of those?

CSS is simply the way to go. SMF tries to be XHTML 1.0 complient (as set out by the W3C). <font> I think was depreciated as of HTML 4.0.
Yes, FF does show the fonts a bit smaller than IE, so that sounds normal.
If you're up for it, I recommend you Google for a CSS tutorial you like and check it out, it's amazingly powerful :)

You need to have and use the .smalltext class in style.css, and import the extra rules for older Internet Explorers.
