For those who are too lazy to click -- this is a test version of a SMF Gallery Pro to SMG converter. I had an internal conflict with myself on this (yeah... I'm strange), because I have a lot of respect for vbgamer45 and don't want him to consider I'm betraying him by doing a converter for SGP. However, I changed my mind, because I'm a wicked, wicked man:

- It will only convert the features that are in SMG. So, bye bye "mature" checkbox and little things like that. Until we implement them at least. (But I'm not doing them.)
- It currently doesn't recreate the folder structure -- i.e., subs-albums appear as normal albums. This will be fixed in a later release though, I'm just a bit tired after 3 straight hours of coding.
- People who have SGP installed have bought it in the first place. It's not like we're driving sales away from SGP by releasing a SGP converter. If something were to do that, it would be the SGL converter, and I wasn't even on the project when it was made...
- People who desperately WANT to switch from SGP to SMG will use the Mass Uploader if they can't find a converter. Well, I just want to save them the hassle of doing that.
- Just so we're clear, vb or anyone else is welcome to come up with a SMG->SGP converter as well. If you need any help, just PM me.

The filename is mgconverter_sgp.php and the conversion process is exactly the same as for the other converters.

PS: I found out that the SGL converter had a lot of little issues here and there, including the generic icons getting destroyed in the process. Can anyone confirm this?

Well you'll remember that my server was running in safe.mode and thus I couldn't install via packages but manually. So I'll have to wait for the manual instructions to come out rather than do a manual uninstall and mess things up!!!!

I see. But... Manual instructions... You realize these are generated automatically? We don't do it ourselves huh...

As for uninstalling, just upload your rc 3.1 mod to the smf package parser (i don't remember the url), and take a note of every change you made...

Wow, I just finished using the other converter and it worked.  Granted the subs didn't work but thats weird that it worked if you had to make a new one.  Maybe I just got lucky.

I was actually coming here to post a thank you for the feature of waiting a second here and there so as not to crash the server.  This worked on Bluehost and still it didn't crash.

You don't use user albums (user categories), do you?
This is one of the features that won't be converted by the SGL script.
Also, generic icons get erased. Previews aren't converted. I think that's all (for the main stuff that needed to be updated, I mean.)

Oh, well, originally the script waited for 5 seconds... But you really need to be solid if you want to wait for so long Anyway--you can set max script execution time and max wait time within the script itself.

Ahhh, yes we did lose the user galleries but only a handfull of users made any and it only added up to 102 pics out of the 1800 we had.

Well, you can re-import using the new script...
(Or wait until I integrate the folder structures.)

I just manually moved them all, made a new group with access to the old gallery and told the few that had personal galleries that I could give them access to the old gallery if they wanted to see what they were missing and if not just start fresh with new pics.

One feature request for some day would be to allow a group to create general albums, not just user albums without full admin.

I installed 1.5 RC 3.2 and thought cause of this the entries in my error log will be history, but I was wrong. I still get these messages in the error log:

Manu, I'd say you upgraded v1.0.x manually to v1.5, and you didn't run db_install.php... So, you have a 1.0.x database with the 1.5 code. Very bad idea

To all> I've implemented the child album system for the SGP converter. It's only tested on my test gallery (for which I made up to 2 sub-levels), and it seems to work.
Please test! I'm uploading here so that you can still get the first version (on the mod page) if this one doesn't work.

It is possible if you use some sort of portal(TP, SP) or edit templates. It isn't hard.

Any news on conversion? BTW...It doesn't converts ratings ATM.

The notification feature is pretty much next in line in my to-do-list. Has been in there for too long now, and been requested too many times.
The "latest crap" links in board templates, we're not going to do -- these require additional changes to templates, and we're trying to keep template modifications to a minimum. Anyone is free to make a mod for adding the feature to their templates, though. (Yeah, a mod for a mod -- it wouldn't be a first.)

Updated all converters (mostly the SGP one):

No one's stopping you from requesting features, we are just saying that due to 1.5 being at its edge of final release, we are no more interested in making additions to it. However we may reserve those ideas for later released. What you're asking is pretty much possible using block codes and portals, it isn't hard.
