I got the following message when trying to upgrade from RC2

Quote
An Error Has Occurred!
The package you tried to upload either is not a valid package or has become corrupted.

It was the zip file one that I selected originally and then again with the tar file.

First I'm sorry for my english. Second thanks for the great work you guys do ;).

I've three questions:

1.- I use 1.1.RC2 is extremely necessary to upgrade or update, (i don't get it the diference betewen this term, even after I read with the explanation :()

2.- Is fully stable? or is only for testing?

3.- In other site some friends use the 1.0.7 they won't upgrade o update this version is too old at this moment?

Thanks a lot

Dannii

1. No, but make sure you install the 1.1 RC2-2 security update if you don't.
2. No, it is a release candidate.
3. 1.0.8 is the latest stable release. It's not too old.

fritpa, rc means Release Candidat, so consider this rc3 as test version. But you should update since 1.1rc2 has a vulnerability. For the same reason you should update 1.0.7 to 1.0.8. I guess you didn't read the news, else you would have known about the vulnerability....  ;)

The visual changes are not much at all, but a lot of bugs are fixed and the version is very much more stable then 1.1rc2 :)  Also, it loads a LOT faster then 1.1rc2 did, so thats the biggest change i have noticed so far :)

QuoteIs fully stable? or is only for testing?

You could say it's stable, but it is still i beta so some errors can show up as in all rc releases.

1.0.7 is quite old 8 month if i remember correct, the reason to upgrade to 1.0.8 from 1.0.7 is for small fixes like better security, faster load times. Most newer releases are improvements from the earlier versions, thats why they release updates :)

Phasar

Don't know why, but the downloads for the new upgrade aren't working. Zip format says it downloaded 100% but won't close out and tar.gz format stops at 1193K.  :'(

No.  You must manually upgrade the release candidates.

Hello all. I've installed this upgrade and very good it is. However, I had integrated FlashChat with rc2 and now that I've tried to reinstall the integration I just get a white screen (although the loading bar states that the page has loaded, the forum doesn't appear). The flashchat prog works fine in isolation but the instructions at http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=66561.0 don't seem to work. Is this upgrade compatible with FlashChat?

Many thanks

nosferatu, please ask your question on the FlashChat thread.  The question should be, "Is FlashChat compatible with RC3?"

Is anyone else having trouble with the karma after the upgrade?  I can't change anyones karma now without an error message that reads:

Session verification failed. Please try logging out and back in again, and then try again.
