Yes it does.
hmm.. Doesnt work on my SMF...

Enable spell checking. You MUST have the pspell library installed on your server and your PHP configuration set up to use the pspell library. Your server DOES NOT appear to have this set up.

Hi Smacktalk.

Please open a support ticket and a tech will install it for you,

Tony.

Normally we do (it's where I tested the spellchecker when I was writing it for SMF).

A Cpanel update must have knocked it out, should be back in tonight or tomorrow.

There I just recompiled it. in the future, help desk submissions get faster response times (as opposed to forum posts here) ;)

And some want to charge you for an hour at $65 if you want it, even though everone on that server can benefit.

What? Boo to them! It takes all of like 15 minutes to download the libraries and reconfigure PHP, sheesh.

Well this was HostRockets claim to fame:
QuoteHi,

This would require us to recompile php. It would take about
an hour to upgrade things properly. The charge for this
would be $65 per hour. Let us know what you would like to do.
I have been happy with all my service and their Giga hosting package, but this did rub me the wrong way.

What if you offered to do it for them, and for free even?  Would they let you?  You could say:

QuoteDear HostRockets,

I am sad to hear that your staff is under-qualified to rebuild PHP properly and speedily.  I would be more than happy to do their job for them, in under half an hour, for no pay at all - except that all your other clients and I would have the new functionality this offers.

Thank you,
Jack

Don't I wish [unknown],  It's just hard to believe that someone that has all the extra features that HostRocket has that this would be so out on a limb for them to handle.  I host 3 site with them and figured that would count for something.  I just hope that there are several other Yabbse forums hosted there that will be converting to SMF and they start getting too many requests to ignore it or someone else is in a bigger need and is will to pay the $65

I requested pspell to be loaded at Ipowerweb.com but they didn't say anything about a charge.  They better not send me a bill or I'm moving to another host.

Most hosts would probably do this for free because its a benefit for all their customers and their service overall... charging $65 is absolutely incredible imho... you could get a few months hosting with a good host who -has- pspell installed for that ;)

Thats where the word decent comes into it ;).

A host should not be a host if they have to rely on external techs to do something as simple as recompile php.

Tell them that you'll gladly pay them $65 if they'll deduct that cost from your bill over the next year :)
Seriously... that's crazy. My host installed it free of charge no questions asked. They shouldn't have php on there if they can't install libraries. Threaten to take your sites elsewhere and see what they say. If they really want your business, they'll install it for free.
