Step1: Download the file
Step2: Use admin to upload the Package
Step3: Activate the package
Step4: Goto Smileys Settings
Step5: Enable Customized Smileys
Step6: Enable Customized Message Icons
Step7: Smileys Sets
Step8: New Smiley Set
Step9: Name it Lots o Smileys and select the proper folder
Step10: Make it default and import the smileys form teh directory
Step11: Apply and refresh your page to re cache

Ruthiness

When I create a new smiley set and check the box to import smileys already in this directory I get:

Unable to import smiley set. Either the directory is invalid or cannot be accessed.

I have SMF 1.1.2

I have set wide open permissions on the forum.. Any ideas?

Gantry

Ruthiness, if I were you I'd probably double-check that assumption by looking for the /lotsosmileys folder and checking the permissions.

What I really wanted to mention to anyone else reading this was, I just installed it yesterday on an smf 1.1.3 setup and it works just fine.  Members have been using the new smileys. Good luck!

asdas2

can u please make it to smf 1.1.3 or is there any other way or package to put new and more smileys  ??? ??? ??? ???

With any smiley package you can just extract the package archive and ftp the smileys in it to your Smileys directory then activate them via your ACP...it's probably easier to do that than to mess with the package compatibility.

ACP=Admin Control Panel...what you get when you click on "admin" in the navigation bar.

You'll find quite a few smileys in different packs on the SMF mods list...it's likely that they won't show as being compatible with your version of SMF but if you do as I described previously you can use them.

Other forum scrips have smileys available...CMS (Content Management Systems) scripts have smileys too. You can find a lot of them without putting in much effort....google is your friend.

is that POP UP thingy fixed ???

I just installed it, then decided to remove it only because of the space it's taking up on my post section, anyhoo, after I remove the package, then uninstall it, now when I post, I see my set, and red x's where the smiley set used to be, what did I do wrong? I removed the package then uninstalled it  :(

I have SMF 1.1.5

I tried to install the smileys and I get this error when I try to MODIFY a smiley and set it's smiley set to "Lots_O_Smileys" or if I try to import them.

QuoteYou have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'LENGTH(code) DESC' at line 2
File: /home/paperbul/public_html/forum/Sources/ManageSmileys.php
Line: 654

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 1.1.5, while your database is at version 1.1.4. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.

I'm not sure what to do to upgrade the database or where to find "upgrade.php" anywhere. It really doesn't give much useful information.

EDIT: Nevermind! I got it to work by just copying them all to the Classic icon directory that it was set to.... I guess I should have payed more attention when I was reading everyone else talking about that. It didn't make sense to me until I discovered it on my own.

Thanks!
