@spaceboy> You said your site crashed with a "function already defined". You also indicated file "Subs-MGallery.php", which is a remnant from SMG. What else can I say! If it is there, then it is there. :-\

@petesky> No scope? What do you mean? And FAQ? Akyhne wrote an FAQ, not me. (I have yet to write one -- I've got a barebones FAQ waiting to be written. I hate doing that.) As for Foxy!, just click the link in my signature and you'll have the full feature list, I don't know what else to say...
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

ok, thanks Nao - I'll look at that file, though I didn't see any code left for SMG based on what was in the manual install instructions.

Foxy is a subscription / year ?

I believe your right to use it is perpetual, but the "updates" are a yearly subscription.  I think you can go here and buy it... http://my.noisen.com/?area=subscriptions

Currently it says...

Purchase the Foxy! add-on for SMG and get access to the add-on and its discussion board.
Duration: 1 Years
Cost: $20.00

I think the price is a temporary reduction.

OMG I thought foxy was some cute little add on I could figure out in 5 mintues...NOT! I am going to sign up so I can get it but do I need an owner's manual? I was trying to read the info and figure out how it will fit in with Aeva Media.. Ok, going to read up on this some more. :)

Nao 尚

@petesky> No, it's an owned license, with 1 year of support and updates. I don't know if I'll still be updating Foxy! in a year, so it's a moot point really (although I've released v1.25 today and the first release was half a year ago...)

@tfs> Yes it's temporary. Normally it's around $40 (considering it's an extra 70 kilobytes of code/1.800 lines of code and I'm already maintaining 30.000 lines of code for free, I consider it a fair price.)

@Filipina> You just need to install it, it doesn't install on top of AM, it installs in parallel so you don't have to uninstall it when upgrading AM, and vice versa. You don't need to enable it either, it's immediately recognized by AM.

For what it's worth, imo, Foxy! is well worth the cost, even at full-price.  At this reduced price, it's a steal for what you get.

@saks> There are examples pretty much in every topic you could think of, really... Even by reading the changelog you can find it ;)
Unfortunately I could not find the answer to the question to insert Recent elements on the main page of the my site working on tinyportal. Probably I was inattentive. Nao, I will be very grateful, if you help me to understand with this question.  O:)

rgecy

In the code posted for the php block in Simple Portal, is there a way to show only the latest images posted instead of random ones?

Thanks,

RGecy

@Nibogo> 99% of users don't check out the "Additional options" area either, especially after seeing it a first time before AM was installed...
And if no one was using AM, at least I'd be getting some sleep :P
Could you instead tell me what you thought would be "very visible" an improvement?

The Additional Options area has some important options so maybe more than the 50% of the users check it and maybe it's more "friendly" for newbies to just mark an option instead of add the noembed bbcode on each video.

I have some ideas like:

- Watermarking of images uploaded.
- Create New Topic after Upload.
- New AM Button on BBCodes, when you make a click on it shows a New Window with all the categories of SMG and you can easily click on an image title and it adds the smg BBC to the textarea.
- Maybe a new feature like require comments after rating?
- "No Embed Videos" in the Additional Options Area.

Nao, I thought we had determined a few months back that you had to redo the Foxy! install when uninstalling/reinstalling .... er, I guess it was SMG at the time.  But I was having trouble on playlists with the graphic equalizer not working, and it turned out that when I was upgrading SMG it was deleting a Foxy! JS file or something like that.

Does Aeva Media's uninstall leave all of the Foxy! files alone now?

@Warlock: :)
@saks> Please read the hacks board at smf-media...
@rgecy> Just replace 'RAND()' with '' (empty quotes)... This is the section where ordering is indicated. If no ordering is given, then it's sorted by ID. I think. If not, then try 'm.id_media' or 'm.id_media DESC'
@tfs> Oh, it's very unclear to me... It rings a bell somehow but... Ah well... Indeed I should be putting the files into a new 'foxy' folder, rather than re-using the 'aeva' folder. I suppose. At least it would save having to reinstall it. Would you want me to do it?

It's not a 'very visible' improvement...
And it's in my to-do-list for Foxy! anyway.

Quote- Create New Topic after Upload.
This is already in Foxy!

Quote- New AM Button on BBCodes, when you make a click on it shows a New Window with all the categories of SMG and you can easily click on an image title and it adds the smg BBC to the textarea.
This is already in Foxy! (Upload button -- if you want to add an existing picture, you can simply middle-click the Media tab and choose a pic in it... It's easy as pie and works even without Foxy!, eh...)

Quote- Maybe a new feature like require comments after rating?
This would encourage spamming. Are you interested in reading people rate something 5/5 and comment "Cool"? What's the point? The rating system is precisely here to allow people to give their opinion on something without having to post...

Also, none of these features are very "visible" improvements (except for the SMG button but it's already there...)
What do you mean by visible, then?

Is it possible to stop any pictures posted in the gallery from being hotlinked?

If someone clicks on the Properties of the thumbnail then does a copy and paste of the URL onto another site on the net.

Uh... Like it's awful or anything?

Use the Clear filenames option, and add some rules in your .htaccess file to prevent hotlinking on anything inside mgal_data.
