Hello,
is there anybody, please help, it is urgent.
When i installed the first time a version imagesonboard2b4 it didn't work properly, don't know why, so i download the other version imagesonboard2.1 and i installed it, so i got double images on board, and don't know how to do with it.

i got doubled info in "Modify Boards":

"Name of image for this board:
Include file extension. (i.e. xx.gif): *
Include file extension. (i.e. stop.png)

Link for the above image:
(i.e. http://www.simplemachines.org)

Include file extension. (i.e. xx.gif): *
Include file extension. (i.e. stop.png)

Link for the above image:
(i.e. http://www.simplemachines.org)"

what shall i do, please help! THank you very much!
I am using SMF 2.0.1, curve themes.

And, after i uninstalled both of the version, there is still something left in the "Modify boards" area, how can i totally clean it, and reinstall again this mod? Thank you very much!

I love this mod, but I have two questions.

1. How do I make it so when you click on the image it will go to a different site (like a sponsors site)? It's clickable now but it just goes into that board.

2. How can I get the image to show under the board name? Right now it shows to the left of the board name.

You can see them at www.uppermidwestoutdoors.com

Lamarck

I have been using this mod for some months,and works very good.
However,I have a question/request: how can I show images hosted in a external server (such as imageshack,etc),so I don't need to upload the images inside my hosting? I have problems with bandwith,and I need this very much.

Thanks..

You can have several available themes on your forum, with several kinds of colours. So, this would allow, for instance, to use differently tinted versions of your images, to integrate them better in the used theme.

In fact it would even allow to use completely different sets of images to match the style of the theme (jolly or brutal, woody or metallical, cartoonish or realist, etc). But even with just one set of images (in particular if stylized or silhouetted ones), adaptating them to the surrounding colour schemes would be useful. Or else it can get hard to find one colour that doesn't clash with any of the selectable themes.
Point taken. The problem is that the mod will become complicated. I don't even know how to do it. :P

Have you tried installing the newest update of this mod? Do you still need help?

You da man Johnny B! Thank you so much.

One last question. How do I get the banner to show under the board name instead of in front of it?
You are welcome. Open your BoardIndex.template.php and find
<td class="windowbg2">';

if (!empty($board['image']) && empty($options['disable_iob']))
{
echo '<div style="float:left; margin-right: 4px;">';
if (!empty($board['img_link']))
echo '<a href="', $board['img_link'], '" target="_blank"><img src="' . $settings['default_images_url'] . '/ImagesOnBoard/' . $board['image'] . '" alt="', $board['img_link'], '" />';
else
echo '<a href="', $board['href'], '" name="b', $board['id'], '"><img src="' . $settings['default_images_url'] . '/ImagesOnBoard/' . $board['image'] . '" alt="', $board['name'], '" />';
echo '</a></div>';
}

echo '
<b><a href="', $board['href'], '" name="b', $board['id'], '">', $board['name'], '</a></b><br />
', $board['description'];

replace
<td class="windowbg2">';
echo '

FYI - I installed the mod, and it screwed up maintenance's ability to check versions, so I uninstalled it.
You should report this mod so other customizers can check the code. You might have other mods that is giving you issues, but hey, if you have proof I will be more than glad to change and update this mod.

@romper
Thanks for the compliment. Thank you for using/trying this mod.

great mod! is there any way of making it so the pictures arnt clickable tho?
Thanks. The pictures default link is the board link. If you want to remove the link, let me know. You have to edit your BoardIndex.template.php.

@Dariano
I have your files. I'll get back to you after I edit them.

So, what's the news for the next version ? Any chance to see it soon, with the "toggle images off" option and/or the "theme-dependant images" system ?
The latest version is 2.1 and your member have the ability to turn the display of images on or off. Default is on. Profile => Look and Layout Preferences => " Don't show images on board." checkbox.

@neverhurry
You have to do the manual uninstall and remove all the codes.

1. When you modify a board, enter the link or url in the "Link for the above image:" text box.
2. See my previous post above this post.

I have to add another column/field for the external server. If I have time, I will add it to the next version.

Ok. Not much of a problem anyway. As we have to manually add the code to the "unsupported" themes anyway, whenever I do I just replace all occurences of "$settings['default_images_url']" with "$settings['images_url']", and make an "ImagesOnBoard" folder in the theme's "images" repertory (with its own set of icons inside). It seems to do the trick very well.

I have this working fine in Firefox, but I'm not getting images to display in IE 7.0.5730.13.

Default theme on RC1

Is this because I use .ico files for the images and not .png or .gif files?

Try not using icon files. IE might have problem with .ico.

Well, it has nothing to do with the files being .ico  I changed an image to .gif and .png and got the same results.  All the other images are showing up fine on IE.  It's just the Images On Board that aren't showing in IE.

The only error that I had when installing was the 1st edit of the ManageBoards.template file.  I'm going to go back and see what that edit involved and see if I missed something there.

This is how I have the edit there:
Remember, using RC1 on default
images appear fine in firefox but not in IE

<tr valign="top" class="windowbg2">
<td>
<b>', $txt['mboards_description'], ':</b><br />
<span class="smalltext">', $txt['mboards_description_desc'], '</span><br />
</td>
<td valign="top" align="left">
<textarea name="desc" rows="3" cols="35" style="color: ', !empty($context['board']['desc_color']) ? $context['board']['desc_color'] : '', ';">', $context['board']['description'], '</textarea><br />
<b>', $txt['colorize_color'], '</b> <input type="text" name="desc_color" style="color: ', !empty($context['board']['desc_color']) ? $context['board']['desc_color'] : '', ';" value="' . $context['board']['desc_color'] . '" size="11" />
</td>
</tr>
<tr valign="top" class="windowbg2">
<td>
<strong>', $txt['board_image'], ':</strong> <a href="', $scripturl, '?action=iobuploads" target="_blank"><img src="', $settings['default_images_url'], '/iobuploads.gif" alt="*" /></a><br />
<span class="smalltext">', $txt['board_image_desc'], '</span><br />
</td>
<td valign="top" align="left">
<input type="text" name="img_filename" value="', $context['board']['image'], '" size="30" />
</td>
</tr>

UPDATE:

All working now.  I switched them a second time to .png and this time they worked w/o problems.  I don't know what I did to make it work this time.  Anyway, THANKS for another great mod!

Bulakbol, thanks for taking the time to do this mod and support for it.

I'm having a little difficulty installing it though.  Here's the error message I get when applying the mod:

10.     Execute Modification     ./Themes/default/BoardIndex.template.php     Test failed
11.    Execute Modification    ./Themes/default/MessageIndex.template.php    Test failed
12.    Execute Modification    ./Themes/dilbermc/BoardIndex.template.php    Test successful
13.    Execute Modification    ./Themes/dilbermc/MessageIndex.template.php    Test successful
14.    Execute Modification    ./Themes/babylon/BoardIndex.template.php    Test failed
15.    Execute Modification    ./Themes/babylon/MessageIndex.template.php    Test failed

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong???

C4G-TK

@WVPreacher

The reasons your tests failed are because you probably have other mods which altered the code that this mod is looking for when testing the edits.

1) What version of SMF are you using?

Also, if you aren't going to be using the other themes, all you need to worry about are #10 & #11.

2) Are you using default theme or are you using all three of these themes?

All the failed tests mean is you will have to edit these manually.
