Please post links to demo sites using this gallery.
I want to check it out.

Does it support Flash slideshows, like Exposé on Joomla ?

I need a good free Flash slideshow gallery Mod for SMF.
What would you suggest ?

Many thanks in advance.

Demos:
http://smf-media.com/community/index.php?action=mgallery
http://media.noisen.com/
The first link is the actual demo. The second one is a live version, not a demo. If you want to post junk, please do it on the first link ;)

There are two slideshow mods available for SMG.
- Dragooon's mod is in Javascript and shows pictures with a fade-in/fade-out effect. It's only for use in the gallery itself, as a button in albums.
- My mod is in Javascript+Flash and shows pictures, audio & video within a custom JWPlayer. By using a playlist or simply asking for a full album embed, you can include these playlists/slideshows into messages or any block that parses BBCode.

I don't know what Exposé is. If you need Exposé, use Exposé. I don't steal from other plugins, I try to implement my own ideas/concepts/preferences as much as possible.
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

thanks FLAMER for helping me without him i would of never got this fixed.  :o

- It was YOUR problem, YOUR configuration, YOUR failed SMF install. (I'd already told you your SMF install was screwed up.)
- I helped you every time you asked for help before that.
- Last time, you mocked my helping you as very minor. When you got another issue and I failed to answer you (because I have a life, you know), you flooded this topic with the same question over and over again.
- When I said you made me consider asking for money in exchange for noob support, you treated me like I'm a crook (even though I'm co-author of the mod and we're offering it for free),
- Even now that your problem is fixed, you're not even saying what exactly you needed to fix.

*Therefore*: next time you have a support question for SMG, keep it to yourself or I'll ask a moderator to delete your message. I have enough work on my hands not to let this topic be flooded with people like you.
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

SMF Media Gallery v2.0 is out!

Version 2.0 [Final]                              October 22, 2009
-----------------------------------------------------------------
* Modified Gallery menu button to always link to the homepage. The unseen area can still be accessed
by clicking the number of unseen items (in SMF 1.1.x) or opening the drop down menu (in SMF 2.0)
! Fixed undefined error when showing audio or doc files in the Unseen area
* Incompatibility with WYSIWYG Quick Reply is still there somehow,
I probably won't be able to solve it without the author's help
! Fixed glitch when rating an item to zero
! Fixed a validation error in Unseen area

And of course it also features all of the fixes & additional features from all earlier beta versions.

(Just adding a dummy message so that I'm upgraded to "Semi-Newbie" and links in the first post can show up correctly...)

Hi,
here for example:

http://smf-media.com/community/index.php?action=mgallery;sa=item;id=235

are only 3 thumbnails to see...

Can it be configured that at least 9 or 12 thumbnails are configured like in a Gallery2
environment like this:

http://www.lucnix.be/main.php?g2_itemId=35972

?

By the way, this is an example for the Exposé 4 flash gallery...

http://www.gotgtek.net/15/expose-demo.html

Is there something simular with SMF Media Gallery ?

I like the horizontal flash scrolling through the pics...
So is there any flash gallery like this for SMF ?

Please post demo URLs, so I can have a look at it..
I need some real eye candy ! ;)

Many thanks in advance.

Regards, Stefan.

You can choose btw 3 and 5 as it is, but it should be no problem modding it to show how many you want.

How do I mod it and can it also be at the right side of the big picture like this ?

http://www.lucnix.be/main.php?g2_itemId=35972

And any nice flash transitions between the pics ?

Many thanks.

Well, if you can code, it should be easy to make the changes. If not, Nao will probably do it for a paid fee (he's hungry ;) ). As for the slideshow, it's a paid add-on that I never used.
In general, SMG uses Highslide (when enabled) which makes sliding effects when maximizing images. Whether it does this as well with slideshows, I would asume but don't know.

Thanks guys!
I will update silently v2.0 later at some point tonight though. No biggie, I just found by myself a bug that no one found since it was introduced (at least a week), so I guess it was well hidden ;)

@Akyhne> Highslide allows for a JS slideshow of sorts with effects etc., but as I said earlier, I'm not implementing anything that might hurt Dragooon's mod without his consent. (He wouldn't do it for me either.)

No. It's not just a matter of changing a number somewhere in the code... Changing the number of thumbnails changes the layout as well. I sort of developed three mini templates for all 3 settings. Adding 12 thumbnails is not trivial (it would require me to put everything into an array and add even more code.)
I like it the way it is. Just set your max items to 5 instead of 3, and enjoy. It's set to 3 by default to avoid breaking the layout on a default install on a "minimal" theme.

Yes, Dragooon's mod. There's a demo over at smf-media.com.
Mine is clearly not for you (although Foxy! is not *only* a slideshow mod...), but it allows to play videos & audio files as well:

The silent update is out. It's a really easy fix if you don't want to reinstall it (for all 24 users who downloaded it earlier).
Open Subs-MGallery.php, go to line 2415 and remove these characters: « , 'box' » (without the quotes, of course.)
Save, upload, done.
What does it fix? Well, the lightbox headers weren't being loaded for [smg id=... type=box] tags. Which made it impossible to preview a picture the normal way. I suppose this embed type isn't used a lot anyway. Even I don't use it much ;)

Well, there was a method in the old 1.5.x that made it possible to set a size of an image, and when clicked it zoomed to either preview or full image. Don't remember the exact code, but I haven't been able to get it to work testing all combinations I could think of. However I'm pretty sure it wasn't the box type.

I just upgraded to the new 2.0 and am still having the GIF issue.  Everything works great for me and anyone who has "Manager" permissions.  However, others are having an issues.  One of my moderators is trying to upload a .gif image but it is giving her an error telling her it is not a valid file extension, yet I can upload it perfectly fine.  What could this be?

madsenart

I'm happy to announce that since the update to 2.0 the massupload and the auto resize function works like a charm.

Thank you for all your hard work :)

2.0 Final still have issues with ffmpeg and thumbnails for video.
