My gallery looks scrambled .. is there a way to make the number of clips nicely displayed on the page. You can see on my site www.lazioforever.com .. the gallery looks messed.

Burke ♞ Knight

I just checked with FireFox 3.

Looks like the gallery displays correctly to me.
It does look messed up while loading the page, but fixes itself when everything is fully loaded.

qubbah

After installing this updated mode I am unable to read COMMENTS on any picture.
No problem here...

@Link> Yes. Why do you have to manually (un)install, anyway?

@qubbah> Membergroup permissions!
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

The reason I had to manually install is because the package manager kept hanging and then went to "this page can't be displayed". Upon refreshing it went back to the packages page showing the mod had not yet been installed.

So I said fu(k it and did it manually.

The reason I'm asking if I absolutely need to uninstall before updating to 1.5.1 is because I will have to uninstall manually (really annoying) because it's not listed as one of my packages due to me installing it manually.

Would be much easier if I could just add/modify/remove just the lines that differentiate 1.5 and 1.5.1 .

Errr... The *file list* maybe... But the *line* list? It would take you hours to make the modifications manually ;)
Really, you're better off extracting the mod to a new folder on your PC, and launch a diff compare tool that will compare your new folder with your old folder (you should also extract the previous version the same way). If there are no changes in the .xml files, just take the modified/added files and upload them to your site.
If there are changes in the .xml files, launch a diff compare of the files and do the edits manually.

Well that's the thing, what app would I use to compare? I've used  an online parser before, but the bookmark I had for it, appears to be a dead link.

Would following the manual install instructions for 1.5 in reverse (manually uninstalling) and then using the package installer for 1.5.1 be easier?

"Beyond Compare" is probably the best of its kind, but it's not freeware.
Other than that... WinMerge (perhaps the better known one), DiffMerge, kdiff3 (http://kdiff3.sourceforge.net/)...

I just loaded this mod, I'm having a couple of problems.

The first, I don't have a button for the gallery in either the custom theme I use  (Blue Rose) or the smf default theme.

I altered the index.template.php to try to get the button to show up, and I still get nothing.

**************

Also, I attempt to use the "Mass upload" function, and it gives me this error:

Line: 1
Char: 132
Error: 'yuigen0' is undefined
Code: 0
URL: ***REMOVED***

I can upload picture singularly with no issues.

Hi all!

Guest deleted all pictures from our gallery, IS IT HACK?

What should I do in this case. 1.1.7 ? I backed up my sql, is it possible to restore all pictures?

Thanks in advance

What permissions do guest have?
Also I recommend to upgrade to 1.5 as it has more features and better security.

Dragon before, guests were able to "Access Gallery" , "Search Gallery" and that's it. Now I disabled everything for guests!

I know that there is a link that guest can enter and it'll bring him to deletion page. I also know that there is a code that can be inserted in a file to protect gallery. We're using 1.1.7 version

What code should I enter and where?

Thanks for all help.

alex30, again: update your SMG to the latest version... Version 1.0.2 really sucks, security-wise. Uninstall your copy of SMG, and download and install the new one.

I would do that right away Nao 尚 , and I did it but plenty of errors, code is messed up and manual adding will be a nightmare.

What do you think about adding extra code to mgallery.template.php to protect it at that way?

Burke ♞ Knight

Personally, if I were you, and had a forum with coding that messed up, is remake the forum, and import all data from the database that is needed.

you run a very old beta version .....

In 1.5 and 1.5.1 videos do not work.
I have tested it in IE 7, Firefox 3.1, Safari, GNU/Linux, Mac & Windows. In version below 1.5 it worked.

Hi,
My implementation of SMF Media Gallery doesn't seem to work very well with the theme I'm using. The gallery layout is a bit of a mess. I think the problem stems from the fact that the height of each individual item varies which throws the layout out of whack.

Any ideas what I could change to solve this? You can have a look at my gallery here:
hxxp:www.detectingwales.com/index.php?action=mgallery;sa=album;id=4 [nonactive]

Thanks.

I have 1.1.5 and both embedded and uploaded vids work fine in ff3 and ie7. It's something on your side.
