It's cool guys, I fixed this all on my own...... again  :P

seems like "MGalleryItem.php" file permission wasn't set to 755. After changing the permision to 755 my problem is gone  :D

Where is this file located??  ???

"Smurfs, Smurfs, and More Smurfs!"

[unplugged]

It's located in your forum's root folder.

And again (as it's not really documented): remove that file and the embed code for "html" and "direct link" will be removed from item pages, which is an easy way to disable these. (I know a lot of users, including myself, only need the smg tag.)
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

Is there an SMG tutorial anywhere?  I just added it to my site, but I find that the functionality just leaves me baffled...

Maybe someone here can help - I posted this on the SMF Media Gallery forum and no-one could help there,

I was uploading some mp3 files to my SMFmediaGallery and 2 were uploaded but now it won't upload anymore, I get this error -

An error happened during the upload process, please try again or contact the administrator.

I tried again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and still won't do it, even tried a different file same thing happens.

Did get one to upload that was 896 kb, the others are like 3 mb - is it the size ?

I also changed the php.ini upload_max_filesize to allow for a larger upload and it still isn't working.

>:(

sorry to bump this but still haven't gotten an answer  ::)

you should find out from your host how much "weight" you are allowed to upload..

there might be a size restriction involved.

you can upload as much as you want, but if the server you are on his a limit, it will not go.

or it will turn out a file that either uploads forever, or when uploaded have no size to it..

does this help you?  ;)

Well my server plan is unlimited space and bandwith, but I will call them, thanks for your help again Smokey!

The limit for uploading has nothing to do with your space/bandwidth. It's a setting on your hosts server in the php.ini file(?) that sets an allowable upload size. My host limits uploads to about 8MB. This is something that if you have a paid host, you cannot change, usually.

Smoky "Rider" Blue

no problem pvcblue ;)

hope that helps you..

2 quick question.....

"Max size of a directory" is it measured in bytes, megabytes or someting else? and

Is there no way to limit each user goups total maximum space and bandwidth. ie, for standard members I want to limit their total space on my server to say 1Gb regardless of albums and pics and maybe limit there bandwidth usage to say 10Gb similar to [cough]photobucket.[cough]

User quotas are in my personal to-do-list, but it's not in the high priority list; also, I'm currently busy on Aeva and I'm not sure Dragooon would want to implement these himself.
So it probably won't be done before next spring... (I'm always saying I'll go back to SMG in a week or so, but as long as I have a lot of work on Aeva, I'd rather not split myself between two projects like that. SMG is working great, I'm very happy with everything I implemented in it, so it'll have to wait a bit.)

What i mean is SMF Gallery Pro have:

- Every member can make his own album.
We also have this in SMF Media Gallery...

Quote- Watersign.
We don't have this. I'm not sure it's in our to-do-list. I personally feel that it's wrong to add watermarking to a picture, generally. It's a state of mind I guess. I think that if you want to watermark something, you'll do it on a per-picture basis, which you will generally do through Photoshop or similar.

Quote- That is all.
We do this, too :D

QuoteSo i try to install SMF Media Gallery and than i get a white screen, some conflict with a other mod.
A white screen is more likely due to something other than a conflict...
Does this happen at install time, or after installation, and if yes -- on what pages? All of them, or only the Gallery pages?
(Hmm we should be discussing this over at the SMG topic really...)

The whole site is white.
I had to upload the backup before i get back to the forum.

Well... It's annoying -- I do remember getting stuff like that before, but I don't remember why...
I think it was when I was working on PrettyURLs. Sometimes it would crash and the output buffer ended up empty.
There's only one place where I rewrite the output buffer in SMG, and that's when the smg tag is being used. I take it you never used it? It wouldn't crash all pages anyway... So that's a mystery to me.

Dragooon? Any opinion?

Well I called, and they said I was doing everything right adjusting my php.ini and adding it to all subdirectories, but sometimes it just doesn't take, so they added a global php.ini for me that would control all directories without having to add it to the subs, and it now works!  ;D

Quick question (I hope!).

I finally got this gallery to work with dilbermc, but the gallery button is not like the other buttons.

How can I fix this?

Thank you.

Hi Michael24,

I had this problem before. Assuming your are using SMF 1.1.7 with the DilberMc theme, check that the index.template for DilberMC is as follows:

Quote$txt['mgallery_gallery']

and not
Quote$txt['mgallery']

Try that and remember that the context as per the rest of the buttons must be the same for the "Gallery" button.

Michael24

Hi Vulcan and thanks for your reply.  I did check that and I found that the code was correct according to what you quoted.  Yes, it's SMF 1.1.7

Another thing that's messed up is this.  No one can access their profile!

When you click on any member's profile, an error message states:

QuoteFatal error: Cannot redeclare mgallery() (previously declared in /home/michael2/public_html/forum/Sources/Profile.php:2928) in /home/michael2/public_html/forum/Sources/Profile.php on line 2952

It's all Greek to me!

Okay, attached your DilberMC index.template and I'll see what I can do.
