I just tried it out. If you write 0 in width and height, you can't upload any image. Neither with NULL value...

So if i want to make no limit, just set the values to 9999?

Akyhne

Probably, but if people then click large images like a 2592*1944 image, it will be much wider than most peoples screen. But there's a clever zoom effect in the gallery. You should try it out. It's much easier to understand then.

Maybe, I don't know. Try it out.

Well that's already working because all images have that effect regardless of size.

hello there

I run a smf forum, version 1.1.3, with SMF Gallery Lite 1.7.6 installed. I meant to install SMG but I need some answers before I do.

1) I understand that the only way to install it to smf 1.1.3 is the manual way. Is there going to be any conflict with SMF Gallery Lite?

2) will the pictures shown in SMF Gallery Lite be also shown in SMG?

3) will I have to uninstall SMF Gallery Lite? before or after i install SMG?

4) are there any known problems with SMG and old smf versions like mine (1.1.3)? will it be fully operative (especially embed videos)?
(there are many reasons why i cannot upgrade to 1.1.7 right now)

thnx in advance.

1-  upgrade to 1.1.7. immediately.
2- only if you convert.
3- I suggest uninstalling first....to avoid overlaps.
4- upgrade to 1.1.7...  now.

I don't care what reasons you think you might have, but you really need to upgrade to 1.1.7 as soon as possible. There are a number of security vulnerabilities that have been fixed. In addition, many mods are no longer supported on those versions.

Yes, it is highslide. You can also set the options for highslide's preferences on per-album basis.

  Hi Dragon.  ;)
It is perfect, but I have some problems.
My problem is that no button gallery menu, and the other is all that disappears when changes in Cyrillic.
I very grateful if you help me.

Dragooon

You'll be needing to modify your theme on SMF 1.1 in order for it to show the button. Search the forum.

open your theme folder index.template.php
search for your current buttons (hint: something like ->  Show the [home] button.)

add after:
//SMF Media Gallery
echo '<li><a' , $current_action=='mgallery' ? ' class="current"' : '' , ' href="', $scripturl, '?action=mgallery"><span>Galeria</span></a></li>';

ok i tried to upgrade through admin panel and all tests were successfull except it said that "This patch file will update your forum to SMF 1.1.4." not 1.1.7! so how do i upgrade to 1.1.7?

the reason i didn't want to upgrade is that i have too many mods installed and i can't afford to uninstall and install them again. will they work after upgrade if i don't uninstall them? (as far as you can tell)

about smf gallery lite, if i uninstall before i install smg will the existing photos and comments remain and appear in smg after install?

thank you so much for the help.

Kindred

if you are using the package upgrader, you will have to for 1.1.3-> 1.1.4 and then 1.1.4->1.1.5 and then 1.1.5-> 1.1.7
Doing the upgrade through the package manager should leave your mods...

However, since you have missed so many upgrades and have so many mods installed, you MAY have to do  a full upgrade...  and yes, this will cause your mods to be uninstalled.

(I'm sorry, but I do not feel that "I have a lot of mods" is a valid excuse for not keeping your forum secure.)

When mods uninstall by using the full upgrade, you don't lose any data, you just have to re-apply them

As for sm gallery lite....   You won't lose any imsgae unless you delete the files/database.  However, they will only appear in smg if you run the converter. SMG and smg galLite do not use the same database entries or storage schema...

ok, i have upgraded to 1.1.7 through the package upgrader without any problem (i haven't checked on the mods yet but comes last right now). so now i need to uninstall smf gallery lite and then install smg? i didn't understand the part about the converter in order not to loose all the uploaded photos and comments etc.

You can leave SGL installed if you'd like. It's not related to SMG.
The converter will delete all SMG data (which is fine, if it's empty in the first place...), and will leave your SGL data untouched. It's all explained in the help file, eh...
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

hello there NAO,

i've recently moved from smf gallery lite to SMG and i'm very happy with the change.

I'm also using pretty urls (sef mod) and they (smf gallery lite) had already a mod for filters that optimize there urls... will there be any type of suppor for SMG on this ?

MinasC

but i want to uninstall smf gallery lite, after smg install there will be no use for it. i just ask about the data cause i don't know whether it is all erased along with the uninstall.

i am also confused about what i should do now. do i install smg and then use the converter or do i use the converter i order to install smg? having smf gallery installed could you guide me step by step or is it too much to ask?

locau

i made my "upgrade" today and everything works fine (at least till now)

1 - install SMG
2 - use the converter to import the things from gallery lite to SMG
3 - uninstall gallery lite

voilá :)

You can remove SGL if you wish after conversion, as locau said.

locau

NAO or Dragooon can you help me regarding this questions ?

I think Nao did something like that, I'll leave that on him as he knows better about PrettyURLs then me.
