I have a slight problem. Whenever I try to upload my videos to the gallery they are fine with an .avi extension
( apart from my Browser (Chrome) not being able to see them!)
but if I use .divx  the Gallery chucks it out, I also use "avea" which seems to prefer .divx , as if I post the video direct to the server and link from within the forum there is no problem.

If I change the divx encoded movie to .avi in Gallery then it accepts it, but the old wmv player is shown and the divx one is not.

It is annoying as chrome will not see anything with an avi extension, but will with divx

Excuse my spelling  and abbreviation of " Automatically Embed Video Audio" AEVA, But that does not answer or recommend  a solution to the problem.

Hello,

I just installed SMG, and I love it.
But I've got one problem: thumbnails are not showing up in IE, whilst the the space they are normally displayed is clickable. Viewing an item on its own is working, just the thumbnails seem to not be generated in IE.

Any idea what this is causing?

Thanks in advance,
Propa

@Kreator> I would answer if I had a direct link to test.

@Propaganistas> Same answer...

Can I pm you containing account details? It seems guests can't view the gallery, even when they have the appropriate permissions..

jmil

I have a permissions Question: I would like "User Albums" to have the permission selection that "Regular Guests" can view or not view. Right now you can only select "Guests". The user albums are really good and our members are using them for posting pics in their links, but now we are getting alot of albums of basic dumb stuff (used to link Pictures), then they have albums which are intended to be viewed. I have looked everywhere in the Permissions but cant seem to find it! Am I missing this - Or that permission does not exist.

Second Question: Anyway to have a Gallery Icon in the Members Profile like the "Personal Message", "website", "AIM", etc...

Where should it point to? Members can have several galleries.

I cannot upload files any larger than 8.5mb

I have my php.ini set to 24m

I have SMG set even higher max size of directory = 16000047
Max file size in KB = 3200000

and beyond that I'm not sure why it won't allow me to upload files larger than 8.5mb I've tested everything up to that, and it works, .. everything beyond that .. just reloads the UPLOAD page again but blank... and oddly no forum errors.. ? confusing as all get out.
I already spoke with my hosting (1and1) and they concluded that it was a 3rd party issue lol ;) I mean like damn I haven't even been to the first or second party yet.. :P

any ideas folks?

I am still having this problem @ .... http://www.mindmankind.com

My recommendation would be to that single users Owner album list that are listed as public.

You can already see ALL of the users albums - I just would like it to point to that individuals User albums.

Right now when you select User Albums from the main page - you see all of them.

If you are using SMF 2.0, you can create a custom profile field that can do the trick... I guess.

There's a mod for 1.1.8 that adds custom profile fields as well. But the mod is no longer supported.

I'm still looking for some help on images not showing and maybe I didn't ask my question correctly so I'm going to try and ask again, along with adding something else I discovered.

After installing this mod on RC1, I noticed the images for all the links in the gallery weren't showing. Just red x's.
This morning I checked my error log on my host site and found all these errors:

File does not exist: /home/XXX/public_html/XXX/Themes/default/images/mgallery/user.png
File does not exist: /home/xxx/public_html/xxx/Themes/default/images/mgallery/magnifier.png
File does not exist: /home/xxx/public_html/xxx/Themes/default/images/mgallery/eye.png
File does not exist: /home/xxx/public_html/xxxThemes/default/images/mgallery/cog.png
File does not exist: /home/xxx/public_html/xxx/Themes/default/images/mgallery/house.png
File does not exist: /home/xxx/public_html/xxxThemes/default/mgallery/script.js
File does not exist: /home/xxxpublic_html/xxx/Themes/default/mgallery/style.css

In checking the folder for my smf files under default/images, I see there isn't a folder for mgallery.
How do I get this folder or how do I fix this problem?
Sheryl

Akyhne

The easiest way would probably just be to uninstall the mod and then install it again.

Switch to SMF2 and you'll have a full menu entry.

I uninstalled this mod and reinstalled it and it didn't help.
I'm still missing the image folder.
