OK What are there permissions and what are the folder inside albums?

The permissions are all set to 777.  The index.php file is set to 0644
The only thing inside albums is another index.php file set to 0666

Hm so you get that error when trying to add an album correct? If so it should work....

SMG can upload duplicate, it won't be a problem(Unless uploading duplicate is the problem).

But it won't recognize duplicates for what they are and toss them away.

ok got a new problem it seems...

I am trying to upload a 54meg video to my gallery.   I have the max file size set to 104000 my max directory size is set to 104000000
my php.ini is set to allow me to upload a max file size of 64meg

however, everytime i try to upload the 54meg video... it acts like it may be doing it then 10 mins or so later i just gives me "page can not be displayed" error and nothing more.

Whats happening and how do I fix this?

Sorry I'm just getting back to you but I guess something happened to my notifications on this topic.

Yes, that is correct. When I try and create an album I get the error saying I can't because it thinks mgal_data and ablums isn't chmodded correctly so any ideas on how I can get this to work or am I plain out of luck?

I would like to auto approve albums and photos for all above New members (newbies) I have tried all that I can see but am still getting no where. Can some one (please) point me in the right direction. 

I've been though all the pages, maybe I have missed it (Sorry if I have)

Admin -> Permissions -> [YourNoNewbieGroup] ... as I recall.

Regular Members are the same as what you call newbies. It's the standard group people will be members of, when they sign into your forum.

So you need to add an extra group for people that should have special rights to the gallery.

I just installed the gallery last night.

A member posted a new gallery with 10 images. As administrator, I was able to approve the gallery, but can't approve the 10 images. When I click on approve, nothing happens.

Any thoughts?

My Global Mods are setup to approve and administrate, but the same thing happens for them.

Or it could be your ISP's DNS servers are crap which is fairly common. Just use OpenDNS, that should fix your problem.

Upload of large files produces errors in SMF 1.1.8 (SMG 1.5.5):

SMF 1.1.8: "An error happened during the upload process, please try again or contact the administrator"

SMF 2.0 RC1: No issues.

Both forums are running on the same server with the same php.ini settings. I have no cache enhancements on my hosts server.

... and I can't play back videos in the SMF 1.1.8 forum. It shows that it prepares the video, plays a second (no video), and then stops as it was done.
It's any kind of video format.
