Well, there already is.

Which one is it? Does it display the image in that external forum as an image and not just as a link?

Dragooon

The Direct link supplied can be used to display it on an external forum.

It only works with [img ] tags. Is there any way to include IMG tags in the link so the users can simply copy the entire link with IMg tags in to another forum.

Thanks

Here is a direct link to a gallery item on my site: http://londonbass.com/forum/MGalleryItem.php?id=393

Look below the image and you will see 3 links to copy: bbc tag, embed code, and a direct link.

Every item in a smg gallery has these links. How you missed this, I have no idea. Sorry if I sound rude but it's an obvious feature.

Random = 1970?
Ok not that random, I think the earliest date I've seen is 2003. Anyways it's sometihng between every 8 - 10 item uploaded itn enters a random date.

Are they photos from camera? Is "Use Exif datetime for upload date if available" enabled under Admin > Gallery > Settings?

Dragooon, the setting is on by default (because I love it).
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

No they are art work, is it still possible that the images have Exif data? I'm more than happy to turn off Exif as I don't really need it.

Nao 尚

You can disable the option per-album. Yes, any pic can have Exif data I guess. Although less likely for non-camera pics. Depends on the program used.

OK thanks for the info, I've just disabled Exif all together as I don't require it. I'll see if it makes a difference.

Dragooon

Make sure to also disable that single feature under config as well.

Nao 尚

It'd be best to keep it on in case someone creates an album with holiday pics ;)

It's done but in the process of checking thing out I noticed something else!

HTML embed code: <img src="http://twnb-worldofstuff.com/MGalleryItem.php?id=1063" alt="" />
Direct link: http://twnb-worldofstuff.com/MGalleryItem.php?id=1063

None of these links work!! This is the correct direct link>>  http://twnb-worldofstuff.com/index.php?action=mgallery;sa=item;id=1063

Dragooon

Make sure MGalleryItem.php is chmodded to 777.

The_Wii_Nes_Boy

Set to 777 but I'm still getting the internal server error.

I dont think you quite understand.

I would like it so that when users copy the direct link, paste it in to another forum it comes up as an image not a link. In order for this it needs to have [ IMG] tags embedded into the link. Im not sure how it would be done which is why i am asking.

Just put the link in [img] tags.

If it was just for me then it wouldnt be a problem but because i would like it so that users can also 'host' there images on the forum it wouldnt be practical for then to always have to add [IMG] tags when pasting the link in to another forum.
