I have a problem with mass upload of items to SMG which installed on my forum.

Steps:
1) in album click mass upload;
2) select a few items to upload (jpg photos in my example);
3) click 'Upload' link;
4) upload process is starting.

Result: after first item is uploaded, uploading of other items stops. Moreover, the first itme is not actually uploaded to gallery. See screenshot attached.

Version:

Installed version: 1.5.6
SMF Version: SMF 1.1.8     PHP Version: 5.2.9
FFMPEG: No
GD2: Yes bundled (2.0.34 compatible)
ImageMagick: No (IMagick: No - MagickWand: No)

Browser: FF3, Google Chrome, IE7. Javascript is ON.

How can I resolve this annoying problem?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Is mod_security installed?

It seems so. Phpinfo displays mod_security2 as loaded module.

In case you don't, you need to get rid of it(IOW, ask your host).

Guys, maybe this is not always the main problem? From my own experience, the firewall (in my case Zone Alarm) can also cause this issue. I used to have this problem too. And since I couldn't be bothered to get in touch with my hosting provider, I just uploaded the files manually one by one. Then I turned Zone Alarm cookie control off, cleaned the cache, tried mass upload again. Voilà, it worked!

I have turned it off in .htaccess file using this code:

<IfModule mod_security.c>
   # Turn off mod_security filtering.  SMF is a big boy, it doesn't need its hands held.
   SecFilterEngine Off

   # The below probably isn't needed, but better safe than sorry.
   SecFilterScanPOST Off
</IfModule>

...but it didn't help me. :(

Try with just the two SecFilter* lines, nothing else.

@Soms> Really...? :-/

Tried with two lines in .htaccess:

SecFilterEngine Off
SecFilterScanPOST Off

Forum is not loaded after that.

Does it mean, that host doesn't allow to disable mod_security?

Ask them.

Hi!
One more question please:
Is there any way to make an albun with "adult" (no real porn, but eg naked woman wallpaper) contents available also for guests but with a disclaimer for accept (if You're over18yo) or exit (if You Aren't)?

Tiribulus

Let's try it here :-\

I couldn't find any reference to this in this thread and it's not a real big deal, but on the mass upload page the browse button has transformed itself into a plain white box. It works, it's just blank. If you get a chance or happen to know why this might be the case could you pretty please (how was that ;D) lemme know what to do?
Thanks

Nao 尚

It could be worse. The box could be pink with bright yellow stripes.

You're a troubled man, your shrink must've told you that by now :P
Pink would not match my theme at all

EDIT: This is an issue with this install of Firefox somehow on this machine. Doesn't happen on my other computers so it isn't a problem with SMG. Nonetheless, your encouraging "glass half full" comment has made my day more livable. 8)
Thanks

can you link images from photobucket in this MOD or do all images need to be uploaded?

They need to be uploaded.
I understand your point but there are currently no plans to let users do this.
It could be done, technically, via en embed, but I haven't looked into this.

Hi,

I am attempting to covert to SMf and SMF Gallery from Joomla & PhpBB.  I will not be converting any databases , i will just re-upload everything.  My new site is HERE.

I installed everything without a problem but later I could not figure out how to access the gallery.  After reading this ( and few other ) forums I found that you need to hand-code the new button in the theme itself if you are not using the default theme -  a little surprising but ok.

I tried all the instructions about where to paste what code ( there is few different instructions on a couple of different forums around the net ) but none of them worked.  I always get a template error afterward and have to FTP the original file back onto the server.

I'am using :
SMF Version : SMF 2.0 RC1
MOD : SimplePortal 2.2.1
Gallery : SMF Gallery Lite 2.0.5
Theme : DeviantSMF

Can anyone help me with getting the menu button for the gallery to show ?

PS : I followed instructions in earlier post in this thread and it did not work.

Kindred

1- with smf 2.0, you should not have to manually code theme changes.
2- this is the support topic for SMF Media Gallery (SMG), NOT SMF Gallery Lite.

Yeah... Wrong topic.

@Jarowit> If you intend to keep SMF Gallery Lite, please edit your permissions... I've been able to edit your album description without even being logged in, lol.
