I found that on the SMG forum but also didn't worked.

I tried v1.5.4 and it worked fine, so i suppose the problem is with some of the updates of v1.5.5
I will wait til v2.0 to update an use the 1.5.4 for now.

No.
But SMG2 (upcoming) + my Foxy! add-on has a notification feature that you can tweak into showing a RSS feed for albums. It's not out-of-the-box but it's doable.

but i am puzzled at so many permission options, should i give all of them to forum members? what is the normal choses? anyone knows?

i suppose that forum members can not be given such permissions as "Moderate Gallery, Administrate Gallery or Access unseen area", right?

Well we've been working hard on SMG2 for months and months... You certainly can wait until we feel it's ready. It'll probably be out this weekend but then again we announced that several times these last few weeks... Although now we do have a complete changelog ready for release.

Otherwise if you're in such a hurry, use a bridge to Gallery2 or Coppermine, and then convert to SMG2 when it's out. Or sum'thin'.

@neverhurry> Of course you should give guests the ability to administer and moderate your gallery. It'll be a lot of fun I'm sure :) Sort of like a Wikipedia, only without an "undo" button eheh.

SMG2  :o :o :o ?!!

sounds cool!!!

Looking forward to when it comes out.

Nao - by all means WAIT to release it until alllllllllllll (or most you can find) bugs are out.
I didn't get it wrong, I just found 10,000 ways it doesn't work...

Unseen area is basically the same as the "Unread posts" link in SMF -- only, you see the un-viewed items, rather than the unread topics.
We already asked around and decided to settle on that "Unseen" term, even though it sounds strange.
Maybe with the Foxy! mod I'll get around to completely disable that link (effectively merging it with the unread posts feature, really.)

Nyah...we'll have plenty of them for you.

To think of it, RSS/XML feeds is something that hasn't been added. I'll try to add it before SMG 2 goes RC.

Nao 尚

@batto> Basically, either use some other gallery software, or use SMF2+Foxy! and add some code that will link to a RSS feed for the topic associated to the current album.
Are you looking into doing a RSS feed for *all* albums at once, or one RSS feed *per album*? (ie for new items posted to that album)

@Dragooon> RSS feed is possible via Foxy!, really. But feel free to add it for the common SMG if you'd like. I just don't think it's a priority really...

PD: What is foxy!?

hi, anybody can tell me where is the delete button for an unwanted album, i searched and searched and can not find it. thanks. i am using SMG 1.5.6 in SMF 1.1.9.

Nao 尚

@neverhurry> you can only delete albums through the admin area.

@batto> Foxy! is my non-free mod for SMG. Since Dragooon has been getting all donations for SMG (which I have no problem with), I figured I needed to have my own donation system otherwise I'd just quit SMG once and for all. (I have a hard time giving my girlfriend any good reason as to why I've been working 8 hours a day for nearly a year on something that doesn't bring me a dime.)

Foxy! adds:
- playlists (ie selections of items that any user can create and show -- currently implementing this, will be finished by next week hopefully)
- Flash player improvements (including full integration of playlists into a Flash slideshow -- been working on that for a long time)
- linked topics, ie any album can spawn a new topic (in a board of your choice), locked or not (your choice, again), which will automatically post any new posted item. The first message in the topic has a complete playthrough of the album, and any subsequent message has a list of recently posted items (one message per item if you're using single upload form, one message for a session of mass upload if you're using mass upload.)

It's all been under demonstration at http://fox.noisen.com (hence the add-on's name.)

It also adds many internal tweaks that I made to SMG itself.
I'd like to use the opportunity to say I'm a bit lost with my playlist terminology. I'm reaching the limits of my knowledge of English here. I couldn't find a better name for the Flash player's list of items that is controlled by Javascript, but at the same time these lists can be of different types: album (or multiple albums), item (or multiple items), and playlists (multiple items selected by a playlist owner). This is giving me a headache...
