I guess I am going to uninstall, and try to find a gallery that compares.  I guess I just have one of those problems that someone would have to look at to solve it.  Thanks for your help guys, seriously.

@nao
BTW.: any chance to have .rar/.zip support for the gallery?
I would like to create an "packages" section.

Nao 尚

ra/zip support is already built in (ie upload a zip file with pics and it uploads them all.)
archive support (ie upload a zip and it stays as a zip) is built into SMG2.

Dragooon... Any plans to release any time soon?

The biggest file I have been able to load is about 27 MB's.

I wish! my biggest problem is i can't upload anything bigger than 7mb! it's horrible...

is there anyway to upload a file to the server and connect it to SMG afterwards?

They say that Mgal2 will have this ability.  Until then you can try this... copied from my post at http://smf-media.com/community/index.php?topic=863.0

I've gotten around this by uploading a small "dummy" file in place of the actual video.  This dummy can be just a few bytes in size, created with notepad or whatever.  If your 200 MB video file is named BigVideo.WMV then name your dummy file BigVideo.WMV and upload it.  You can then FTP to your mgal_data folder and see what the actual online name of the file becomes (by default MediaGallery gives it a cryptic name), and then FTP your real video into its place.

The size of the file will show up incorrectly in MediaGallery, but you can easily fix that by going into the database using PhpMyAdmin and fixing it.  I don't recall the table/field name but it's fairly self evident when you get in there.

wow! works great!

Cool.  Though as I said, version 2 should take care of this issue.  I'm so anxious to get a peek at version 2 that I can hardly stand it.  :)  I think that tonight I'll install a virgin forum or two to get ready for some testing.

Hi!
I've send more images in the last day in my gallery (now over 3000).
Now i can't run Check for extra files otherwise i receive error 500 (i think is caused by overload).
All others maintenance Tasks works fine without problem.
Any idea to fix?
-
PS: what is the reason that are present extra files?

So it's just a matter of "turn on" it... good.

Just a suggestion for v2.0

An way to set the max upload with mass upload.
Some times people upload 100+ images, and i want to limit them to a max of 10/upload.

Nao 尚

Hmm... I guess it would have to be made by Javascript. And I'm sure neither of us wants to delve into that. We both have war wounds because of JS ;)

I would suggest you educate your users about not taking up all of the space you offer them...

@Nao: any info for maintenance-check extra files and error 500?

Nao 尚

Ask Dragooon, he wrote that part and I never looked into it I think.

hi, i use smf 1.1.9 and smg 1.5.6.

if a user try to click any link (home, comment, etc.) while an audio file is being loaded, the browser does not respond until loading is finished. even clicking stop on the player does not help.

i couldnt find any comments about this issue, and i tested it with a few computers and a few browser, all got the same error...

i tried replacing the native dewplayer with another, but no success...

any ideas?

Bigguy

I was wondering. I installed this on my personal home server and for some reason it won't show pics at all. I'm pretty sure the server has all that is required to show images as they show in attachments on the forum. What would the reason be or what are some possible things I can check to get this to work. I am running the latest version of the mod and SMF.

Nao 尚

@idanc> this is because your server or your browser is limiting itself to one active stream per server (or user). This is usually fixed by changing your server setup. Ask your host.
@bigguy> no idea. SMG2 b1 will be released today (that's an announcement :)), try installing it.
