you will have to manually add the button code (and possibly other edits) into your sutom theme's template files. (just like all other mods)

yeah I know that part, but what I want is where to get the edits for custom themes? should I get it from the parse.

Done, thanks my friend, that's all.

So, to fix the problem we need to set the collation utf8_general_ci for smg tables and the smf tables. Also, that's not enough, you also need to change the collation for columns in smf_members and smf_mgallery_media too, the reason is thst you make the reference compatible!!

Hello, I am quite new to the whole administering of a forum thing. Right now I am still just trying to get everything running the way I want to before my site goes online. I have a custom theme I downloaded from SMF (Simplify 1.1.10) as well as a few custom mods;

I downloaded the Gallery and installed it into SMF, I can access the Gallery Admin and the Gallery if I type in  ".../index.php?action=mgallery" however,  there is no button on the navigation :S I hope this isn't covered somewhere already- I tried searching to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Yes it has. On the previous page amongst others. You have to manually do this.

I've read the last few pages and all I found was that it indeed needs to be manually added.

I go Admin> Current Theme> Modify the index template> Beginning on line 350

I can see the rest of the navigation buttons code, but what code do I need to add in order for the button to show up?


If this is a commonly asked question maybe the creator could add the tidbit of code required to manually add the button in the mods Readme file for the next release??

I asked my host and they say that php safe mode is disabled. Any other suggestions? I'd really like to use this mod. I had SMF Gallery Lite on my 1.1.0 forum, but I think I would rather use this one because it has more options.

Ask them about the problem you're having. I'm not in control of your server and how it deals with folder creation permissions...

i have just installed SMF Media Gallery on smf 1.1.4 and it installed fine but.....
when i try to enter my admin or gallery area i get these errors:

looks like the server did not allow the installation of the mgallery file(s)


Side note....  Upgrade your forum ASAP...  1.1.4 has known security issues which have been patched.   The current, secure version is 1.1.10

Ok, just manually added this mod, been meaning to for some time,
anyway, when I go the the "Gallery" page I get this error:

Unknown column 'a.hidden' in 'where clause'
File:/public_html/Sources/Subs-MGallery.php

I looked at line 965, not sure what needs to be done tho,
any ideas, thanks to any help.


On closer inspection, I also have these errors:

Hmm, well I think I fixed it,
I had to reupload the files
and it SEEMS to be working
for now, only issue was that
I couldn't delete the old files
and folders, only rename them.

the chmod is stuck on "xxx"
which I have never had happen
before, anyways, Ill figure that
out later, they are not hurting
anything as is.

How do I fix this issue with the Header in the Gallery?  Its showing too big in my forum!  Installed 2.04b on SMF 1.1.9.

Is there any way to back up images in SMG (either beta or regular versions?) as I have had a hard drive failure and require some of the images locally. Looking in MGAL_DATA I can see the pictures, however they don't have a specific format (i.e. JPG).

Is there any way to mass download and re-convert them back to regular images? Rather than downloading over 1000 photo's manually?
