Thanks for the hard work! But I'm little bit confused :P

Does it mean I need to buy Foxy! for the feature to work?
Will it be available in SMG itself?
Well, Foxy! is an add-on, that says it all... You just need to install alongside SMG. SMG checks for Foxy! (MGallery-Foxy.php) and if it's installed, it includes it inside itself, just like it includes MGallery-Embed.php...
MGallery-Foxy.php is a 60KB file so it represents quite a large chunk of SMG by now.

Since I only sold a handful of copies this summer (remember it's my only income from SMG), I decided that every new feature request that coulda/shoulda been moved to 2.1 and/or would take me more than 3 hours to implement would go into Foxy! if possible, so that I can give it added value (apparently most people don't give a damn about my superb playlist feature). So, the SMG button for post boxes was moved to Foxy!, and external image embedding as well. Consider this a "SMF Media Gallery Pro" if you will, only it's 3 times less expensive than SMF Gallery Pro, and it doesn't contain critical features, only niche stuff that people have requested.

Think of it this way: if Foxy! didn't exist, I would never write this kind of feature. Actually, I would have moved away from SMG immediately after I realized Dragooon had left the boat months ago. (Who do you think is getting the donation money? :P)
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

Thanks.
If everything goes well, SMG2 final will be out by next weekend. At any rate it'll be out by October 15 (that's my personal goal). I'll try to work on fixing more rare bugs and try to prevent myself from adding new time consuming features, lol.

Hello, using ver. 2.0 rc1

I seem to have two problems. Seems like members can auto approve albums even though it's not checked in the permissions.
Additionally, I seem to not be able to approve some albums (ties to my first problem above). It seems to happen on random.

Some albums, no matter how many times I click approve/delete from the manage in the gallery; nothing happens. However, if I go into the gallery admin and do so, it will work.

EDIT: no errors in log also.

Pippin_Mariane

I am sure I missed an error solvent in this thread but I am now "hairpulling" .. I keep getting errors

QuoteMySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 's_Gallery/Dir_1','1')' at line 4
File: /customers/pippins.dk/pippins.dk/httpd.www/academy/Sources/MGallery.php
Line: 1160

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 1.1.10, while your database is at version 1.1.9. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.
No matter which gallery I try to add (of course uninstalled before install the new)

My Forum is sprit new download 2 days ago v.1.10.0 and so on.. So I have no clue of why my database is older?? or what to do .. Please help ????????

Great Mod Nao.

1 Thing atm, I removed  RC1 with no apparent errors and Installed RC2 but on the Main Admin page for the Gallery it shows that I am runing RC1 still ?

I also Manually removed any remaining Mgallery folders and Database entries before I installed RC2. Wanted it to be a clean sweep.

Damit Just found another problem for me.

I am unfortunate enough to be on a server that doesn't like ;id in the code so I have to change them all to &id, Now I thought I had done this and everything is working fine except for when I click the "Submit" button when trying to edit something.

I get a 406 not acceptable error and it would seem that the code that the button is directed to Generates a ;id in its output.

Please can you point me in the direction of were this code is as using a search for remaining  ;id yields 0 results ?

Using SMF 1.1.10

Thank you for the information regarding the buttons.  I am extremely new at this and trying to teach myself, (for the most part.)  I looked at the theme's html, but I do not recognize the code that creates the buttons.  If I can find that code, I think I have a chance of understanding how to creat the button and the link to the gallery.  Can someone give me an example of what I am looking for?
And...as long as I'm asking questions...do the "pro" or paid versions of the gallery software load the buttons and gallery links for you, or do you have to create the code in those versions as well.
Sorry for all the questions...as I said, I'm trying hard to learn...with your help.
Thanks much.

SMG does not have a paid version, SMF Gallery has(Its a different gallery altogether), but no it doesn't. No mod for SMF 1.1 does. You can search the forums in order to know how to add the button, it is not hard.

You mean I get no credit for this mod? :(

But to your issue, try going through every source file with MGallery prefix and see if they contain ;id. Since I assume you've already taken care of the templates.

My bad, Yes you also deserve credit for this Excellent Mod Dragooon.

I have been through all the source files also with no joy.

I can add & delete files with no issue but cannot EDIT due to this problem, its driving me nuts.

When I click the "Submit" button when trying to EDIT a file it generates the following code :

http://*MY FORUM*/index.php?action=mgallery;sa=post;id=1

as you can see there is a ";id" in there and my server don't like those at all........"406 NOT Acceptable"

Dragooon

Try finding the $context['mgallery_form_url'] instances in MGallery.php/MGallery-Sub.php and replacing there URLs. It should be one of those.

Never heard you complain anytime someone posted "Great mod Dragooon" and forgot about me...  O:)

As you know, I made 95% of the work on SMG since we went Beta last June. Really, you should really decide whether you want to stay onboard or not.
I feel kinda busted by the amount of work I've been forced to put out. If you want to come back and help me like you did back in late 2008, then please, by all means do it. Because the way it's going -- I'll be putting all of my big new features into Foxy instead. And no one wants that.

So please, an official statement because I get mad with all the work! :P

Thanks Dragoon, Found it......

$context['mgallery_form_url'] = isset($_REQUEST['noh']) && $context['smg_foxy'] ? 'http://' . $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] . $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'] : $galurl . 'sa=post;' . ($editing ? 'id' : 'album') . '=' . $id; at line 2833 MGallery.php

The ; at the end of "sa=post;".

You know what its like when you been looking for something for so long and you loose focus, Thanks for pointing me back in the right direction.

All seem to be working now.......YAY !

Pratt

Just wanted to congratulate you guys on this MOD! Great Job!

Well it's a shame that I don't have any virtual money! :( Sorry, you've worked on it hard, and here I am :P But thanks anyway.

I didn't do anything as radical as this, but I did uninstall the RC1 without a problem and install the RC2 and the version didn't change.  I checked all the files and overwrite them manually, uninstalled the RC2 and installed... several times and nothing, still shows RC1 as my version.

Any ideas of what should I do next?

Thanks for the superb mod!!

leighlife

First, RC2 certainly fixes the album icon failure cases I knew about so far, great!

However there's another case which still causes file and data loss: if an album icon has been set from an item which has no preview size - i.e. it has only the file itself and a thumbnail - and a new album icon is uploaded, then the previous item's file and record are lost :(  <scream>

Also, db_mgallery.php still has 2.0 RC1 as the version, hence the previous reports here.

Great! thank you! fixed it, ran it, and now it's RC2!

Nao 尚

@4b> I don't use auto-approve. Back in RC1, Dragooon committed some changes with auto approval I believe. Maybe he broke it........ :P

@mariane> there's nothing at line 1160... update to RC2 before you report any issues.

@xen> the RC1 notice is normal. It says RC2 in the package manager. I just forgot to update it. Update db_mgallery.php, upload it to your root folder and run it. Fixed. Also, look into your SMG admin area's credits. Does it say mod_security is installed? Then uninstall it...

@All beta testers> Rev 1090 has a tentative fix for mod_security problems on forum submit / mass upload (although I don't think it'll work for mass upload). I tried to take it easy and just do a mass replace... Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't. To anyone who has such a server (Akyhne?), please be sure to try it!

@big_sky_badger> look into index.template.php

@smith_13> No problem, it was just a "virtual" job of 5 virtual hours, after all. I'll just be sure to put all of your requests into Foxy! in the future. Just so you get another taste of virtual happiness.

@leighlife> Think you could look into it as well? I just don't have time on my hands (again!), really...
