Hi all. I just installed the Ad Management and have edited permissions and all that but I still do not see any adds.
Checked  it with multiple places for ads to show as well as just one. Checked the show ads in the permission settings and even logged in as user to check for ads showing.
Tried multiple themes for default in case it was a theme problem.
I am not getting any error mesages so that makes it a little harder to figure out what the problem is.

I am using SMF 1.9 with ad package ad_mod_v2-3-1_SMF_v1-1-x. Not sure if this is the latest or best one to use with this version. Have posted in the mods general support but no reply. Can anybody help?

try this with theme "post it"

it is a good theme

I just looked for it and couldn't find it. Can you provide a link for it?
Thank you,
Scott

If at first you don't succeed. post and post again.

I have uploaded it fine - using the latest scripts for both SMF and Ad management.  But when I upload ads I can ONLY see them when logged in as an admin, I cant see them when as a posters/mods/guests.  How do I get the ads to show to users of the board?

RustyBarnacle

You need to edit the permissions for those groups to include ads.

Thanks, I was indeed being that blind (would have SWORN I did that already but obviously not).

However on changing to a new them I am unable to have them display anywhere other than in text (as posts etc).

I am using the E N Theme

http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=1798

And have set it up to run on http://forum.smallbellyguide.com [nofollow]

Anyone have any advice?

Firstly - i know that i should post this on theme authors forum - which i did, but unfortunately i can't get support there (nobody replied for almost 36h now) and i really need to fix this. :(

Well i have installed latest AD Management with SMF 2.0 RC1-1. I'm using Outline style (just the blue version of it). After installing mod, it kinda screwed my footer, it looks like this:

Ive set "display ads between posts (every 3)", it look ok on main page, topic page.

How to fix this? Please, help.

Firstly i thought it was a problem with theme, but after talking with support here it's obvious that'sa mod - coding problem. Could you help me please? Attached my index.template.

Thanx for quick response! The ads are showing now.

I have a new question, is it possible to have more than 1 ad in the same place?

I have been able to edit manually all of the files except for index.template.php which is from corp-lt116 theme.  It is drastically different than the default theme.  Can anyone help me with updating this file ?  You may pm me if you like.
Any help would be appreciated.

When using the admin panel to add or edit an ad, simply put the code for both ads into the ad-code window.

If you want them side by side, don't use any line or paragraph breaks between them (in html),
or,
if using php code from a local adserver simply insert both ads' code with no php closer & opener between them - you don't neen them anyway with this mod if you have selected php format when creating the ad.

If you mean you want ads to alternate in the same position with each page refresh, simply create multiple ads for the same position and board.

(better still, get a free hosted adserver account at openx.com and use the invocation code from there - you can have dozens of ads served through the same invocation code and only one ad in the ad management mod - openx will do the rotating and keyword targetting for you, plus geo-targetting, language targetting, browser targetting etc)

;)
I have 20:20 vision - I can see anything bigger than 20" x 20"

I could probably help with it, but unfortunately my financial position right now only allows such jobs on a paid basis

Sorry

Oh cmon....it's so hard to get support here and i'm not asking for miracles.

...X days later - i still got that problem, anybody can help?

royhunters

I dont see anything in my smf under config to be able to install this mod, I downloaded it but I can not find any info on what I need to do to install it.

I am not a pro at this so I need the 101 instructions.

Thanks

Yahmez

The files are sitting in a folder on my desktop, they were downloaded from the SMF website, not within the admin of the forum.

Where do I upload them? in the forum folder I have in the root on the server? then log into the forum and poof there it is?

Sorry to sound like a retard here, I have only had the forum for a week so I am in the learning curve.

royhunters

OK, I got SMF to upload the zip folder to the server and I see it in pachages..

Next stupid question: Now what?

Sorry, it has been a long day

royhunters

Hi,

Could someone please tell me how to install the mod once it has been uploaded, I see the mod in packages and I can see a file list but I do not know how to install it.

I can not see where you click to "apply mod"

it is 2-3.4

Thanks
