There are no template changes in 1.0.7. As was said in many other places, all themes for 1.0.x will still work in 1.0.7

Well, I can safely report to you that the patch is NOT applied on the version in the download directory.

Having just downloaded it and installed it from scratch, these files are still showing red and are not at the -1 level:

  • poll.php
  • QueryString.php
  • Search.php

The patch also still errors out as corrupt.

Last step ... last ditch effort ... Download ... unzip and copy manually.

I Have that EXACT same problem here as well. Same files.

chinathetimes

Well HarryWx, It's exactly like they said:

Unpack the patch to your forum directory on your local site and, if you use winzip with the directory structures retained and overwrite turned on, it should put them into the right places.

Then, post them live and remember the pesky script.js unless you want anyone who runs Firefox to hammer your site with reload requests.

The question is still outstanding as to what causes this 'corrupt file' message and if ... in the future with a more complex patch or release upgrade ... you and I and a few other poor souls are going to have to do those manually too.

;)

Hi

I downloaded and updated manually smf using SMF PATCH file. I changed all code in files according to 'smf_1-1-RC2-1_patch.mod' yet in admin section i still get the message that security patch was released and i should install it. What on earth am i missing here? It's very unclear how to manually update this forum having 5 extra files in the update package..

PS: Auto install not possible as i don't want to uninstall all the mods installed!

Dannii

You shouldn't have to uninstall any mods. The patch only changes a few files that mods are unlikely to touch.

The message is informational only.

Look at the box beside:

Version Information:
Forum version: SMF 1.1 RC2
Current SMF version: SMF 1.1 RC2

Forum Administrators:

and click more detailed>sources.

If you see 3 items in red which show 'RC2' and not 'RC2-1' ... only then you need to take further action.

Ah right, clicking that shows the new version of the file.. Good stuff! Thanks.

I have zero idea how to do what you just said.

I dont understand why this patch cant work for me/us using the admin panal route.

Why cant it be fixed?

HarryWx

Ok here is the deal everyone.  You MUST download this update from THIS page NOT the downloads page for whatever reason. Then go to your FTP client ( Or wherever you install files on your site via the cpanal or whatever you are using ) and delete the files in sources known as

Poll.php
QueryString.php
Search.php

And replace them with the new ones uploaded in this package.

Furvert

I am confused now  :(
When I do a version check in forum maintainence those are the only files marked with the -1
I installed using the admin panel when the patch was released.
Does this mean it was only those 3 files that were changed?
Or does this mean the patch failed on other files?

oops I found something
Poll.php   1.1 RC2-1   1.1 RC2-1
QueryString.php   1.1 RC2-1   1.1 RC2-1
Search.php   1.1 RC2-1   1.1 RC2-1

Calendar.php   1.1 RC2-1   1.1 RC2

Calendar says my version is -1 and current version isnt?

chinathetimes

Only those files changed because it was a patch and not a release.

You only need to act if you see them highlighted in red.

With the patch on the downloads page, it also includes the patch for the java script that prevents Firefox from giving your site problems too.

The calendar thing is strange but not a problem.

Dannii

There was a minor bug with the calendar and it was changed sortly after 1.1 RC2 was released, and the download package was updated with it as RC2-1. It's all good.

I´ve tried to update but I get this now:

Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.

Thanks for your help,

I updated one of my forum, by the package manager, and it worked fine.
But, on another of my forum, because of unexplainable chmod problem, I must use the update file... and there, I got this error :

QuoteThe upgrader found some old or outdated files.
Please make certain you uploaded the new versions of all the files included in the package.

I uploaded again the update, and got the same error... so, can't update :(
A solution?
My bad, try attached upgrade.php

The same problem is for me with a fresh install of 1.1 rc2.

Why the main package in the downloads are not updated?

Install new versions of the SMF files to your host. They are included in the upgrade package, but not update package. Also upgrade your language files, if you have.

Furvert

I get this often as well, is it related to a change?

Harzem

If it is always, then there is a misconfiguration. But if it is often, but not always, it is a host issue.
