Okay, I commented out the offending code, and manually added the tables.  It installed! YAY, but I don't see any options in the post box to insert a video clip?

There is none for that.
This mod you just post the link for the video url/site and it should embed based on the settings.

So I just use the Hyperlink BBC?  Based on that all I see is a link, I'm guessing .mkv files aren't supported yet?

Yeah if there is no local .mkv  option then yes not supported.

Ah, okay.  I looked briefly at Jumpshare, but I don't need a place to upload my videos, as they're already on my website.  I just need a player that I can embed in a message post.

I don't think it is possible without an outside service... I feel like they convert the videos in the backend to something playable in a browser.

MKV is not a supported container format for videos in HTML5.

After doing some research, I came to that same discovery.  I found a work around!

After some trial and error, I've discovered that 950 px? for the Height of the player works great for PDFs.  However, is there a way to tell the viewer to shrink to the "default" for a video file?

Also, I noticed that Guests can still view these "attachments", even though I have my Attachments Visible to Guests is disabled.  Is there a way to add this permission?  Thank you!

The items dealt by this mod are not attachments,  they are embedded content. So attachments permissions are irrelevant

I think Senkusha must be referring to this setting which is part of this mod, "Enable Play Media Attachments"

Oh!  Okay. Maybe a permission added to the mod might be in order to prevent bandwidth loss from bots/non Members?

Yeah a setting option would be best. Currently SMF has one for "'Display image attachments as pictures under post" should add one for videos too.

I found out that guests in my forum can't see the embedded videos, although they have access to the board.
What could be going wrong here?

@FragaCampos - if you click the 'Share' button under any of the videos and then post everything to the LEFT of the question mark in the url that pops up, they'll show up normally.

Edit: apparently that doesn't work either. You can delete my test post and my account please.
