This is a great theme for those sites that have many categories and would like to have less verticle scroll. The columns are controlled by CSS and not the category IDs, so it's very easy to rearrange the home page by simply moving your categories around in your admin (like a puzzle). I have left this with the default theme so that it is fully skinnable still. If you re-skin this theme please leave the credit to I Post You Post in the footer.

Demo, please...

Why the credits? This trick/tip is already posted in the foruns and already are themes in directory using it...

Interesting Concept, it may look better if the lastest post info is on the same line as the board info.

I could list a demo, but I've seen many demo's that are dead, so I figured a screen shot should be decent.

Just a request. Any of these themes could be 'similarly' duplicated, but it's always nice to leave credit to the original author. I'm not sure which thread you're speaking of exactly, but I have modified this in a way that it's not your normal display (as ShaDow has noticed).

ShaDow82x, I'll look into that and maybe post a variation.

To make it work well on 1024 res I suggest putting the post and topic counts in the same window as the last post info and have the board name and description above in a separate window. I also recommend having a clear border or margin between boards. This need only be 5px or whatever but would vastly improve readability IMO.

Shadow82x & antechinus, is the image attached sort of what you were thinking?

That's better, although personally I'd put the post and topic counts over to the right and use the same background. I'm not a great fan of the old style "boxes everywhere" themes.

I only just occurred to me though that there aren't any new post indicators. Mind you people can add those if they want them I suppose.

I actually had it that way first, but decided I liked it as above better. But it's extremely easy to switch.

Look for the red/green ">>NEW POSTS<<".  I was trying to streamline the theme and figured the larger icons weren't needed.

Hi,

Is it possible to achieve this in version 1.1.7?

Thanks

Red

KahneFan

I have not look at version 1.1.7, but since it's done with CSS, I would think so. If you're OK with editing on 1.1.7, try my tip thread HERE. I can not guarantee it will be exactly the same, but it may work.

I was about to ask you something in your "justboards" section, then remembered I saw something almost like I was looking for in another theme...then noticed that you are the creator of both, so I'll ask it here.  ;)

The two column theme is almost what I'm looking for, but I would like to just make 2 columns of the existing boards, instead of just one under the other. (for the default theme) It would also cut down on the length of longer boards.

Something like this:

QuoteCategory 1
Board 1                                                             Board 2
Board 3                                                             Board 4

Category 2
Board 1                                                             Board 2
Board 3                                                             Board 4

You can offer it as another theme. (unless there is something like it already)

I opened all of my mods and themes up for others to take over (if they were going to update them), since I don't have time anymore. Someone may have taken that mod over and then removed it for some reason.

I wish you would make a 2.0 version, The 2column idea is great.

colares

Can't make it work on SMF 2.0.2.
All texts are flying around.

There's a mod for any forum type? Can you post it again?
Thanks!
