The <span> is probably not the best choice for a container as it doesn't work well with wrapped long quotes, but a <div> would work fine with the pseudo-elements. The concept is still valid.

My memory is sometimes bad, but something is telling me that some common browsers still do not have proper pseudo element support.
As a FYI, the mod site and upgrades site both have a pseudo element for the anchor links.

ETA: Oh and the idea there is to use the existing main_block.png to get a rounded top right corner without any more markup or images. The rest is just padding and border colour adjustments in the css.

Please add this as default. It's just amazing

Sorry. I've fixed the attachments in my previous post now.   Doing it that way I would like to do it requires very little alteration to markup and only a little bit more css than the existing default arrangement.

Well, I don't fully agreed on that quotes needs to be "curved" at all, so for consistency sake I am posting another suggestion. Which to me, is easier to read.

Its not enough markup to add 2 background images.

I also think that it might be less noticable down there. Its after all, just a background symbol, don't need to be the first you read.(that should be the text itself rather)

I don't mind if it goes at the start or at the end. I only put it at the start because someone had already decided that was where it went.
At the end is fine by me. In fact to be honest I'd be just as happy of it was removed completely.
