How did you put the copyright to footer ? It's in latest SVN or do i have to put the aeva-embed.php over the latest svn ?!

Nao 尚

Good news!

Yes petesky, both solutions are possible. (Although I removed the attachment to save space.)
Use svn 200 or 201.

NAO - I was just trying to upload something to my new gallery and now the site won't load any page that displays a media block or the gallery itself.  The browser just spins.  I can get to other pages that don't load media items.

What went wrong?

I had noticed an error with uploading files, the item would get created, but the file would be blank, as in no file found.  So I noticed that the Data directory URL was wrong (was still my beta site), and I fixed that and emptied the cache but still uploads where blank.  I then changed permissions of mgal_data folder to 777 but no change, then I tried to upload a file to test again and the site hangs on load.

Where did I go wrong?

Stigmartyr

ok - gallery started responding again all of the sudden, but despite that all my permissions are correct, I cannot seem to upload anything without the file showing as blank.  Database is being written to, because item is shown in gallery, the file is just broken..  I have ample upload settings in my php.ini file, too.

I think its a path's issue, but I can't seem to figure out where.  Are there any paths hardcoded anywhere?

Ah!! Silly me... I've just looked at my code, and it's a small bug. In RC2+Curve, the *first* link is the right one, and AM checks for all links except for the first one... Ah! I'll fix this in the next release. Thanks for pointing it out.

This is how it looks like after fixing it. Exactly how I designed it to be ;)
Will be in rev 201. Would you like to test it? Find the attached Aeva-Embed.php and put it into your Sources folder. Please tell me if it works.

Yes, it works as I would like it to now! Thanks! I see my default theme named as "core" in SMF2.0 RC2 within the themes administration page. Maybe it's because I upgraded from SMF 1.1.11 instead of a brand new install.

Hello Nao, I'm using Aeva Media with CR2 and Butternut theme, everything seams fine, but the Aeva administracion center appears in English and some parts in Portuguese (that's the language of my forum), plus when I try to upload a image to an album there's no legends at all.
So my answer is: The two files in the language packs are enough to translate everything?

Sorry for my English ::)

Ok I noticed that I can add files to certain folders, but a specific sub folder does not want to allow the file to write to the album.  Does this have something to do with the owner?  I've made sure to set read pernissions to all albums, but it doesn't make sense that I cannot write anywhere when Im an admin..

I have 201 but where is the option to put it in footer ? I remeber, that SMG befor had an extra option in layout to put the copyright the footer. I also remeber, that i suggested this earlier :-)

To anyone who had problems before with packages downloaded on smf-media.com!!

If you remember uploading the tgz file directly to your server without recompressing it, and having problems with folders not being correctly created -- could you please attempt downloading SVN rev 202 (or later) from smf-media.com and try reinstalling it without recompressing it first?

I'm asking this because I've updated smf-media's Archive_TAR library to the latest version, it has many fixes and maybe it's at last compatible with SMF's package installer...

Of course, if it doesn't work, you can simply uninstall the package, then go to your folders by FTP and manually delete the 0-byte files. Thanks for volunteering!

@Stigmatyr> No hardcoded paths in AM. Make sure it isn't a server error... Also check SMF error logs and Apache error logs. Is php safe_mode enabled all of a sudden? Ask your host if your folders are correctly chowned. Also check your chmods.

@korvus> Modifications.yourlanguage.php and Aeva.yourlanguage.php.

@petesky> The option was removed a LONG time ago... And it was in Aeva, not in SMG. SMG has always had its copyright at the same place. Aeva used to give a choice between below each video or once in the copyright notice. Ever since then, I've managed to fix many of these problems (most notably the copyright notice appearing when parse_bbc'ing a message with a video that is NOT shown on screen, such as in a portal homepage), anyway, the option no longer needs to be there...

@Daydreamer> Err... Readme? ::)

Don't know... I think that now the most important thing to change is the name of the board... it's too long!!

I sure agree with you. This is the 4th time I'm requesting for a name change but apparently the SMF team loves it as it is...
Aeva Media will soon be in Final state, it'll be strange to have "with HD YouTube" in the name... It was worth it when it was just Aeva, but Aeva Media is also a gallery...

Haw... Crap.
Thanks for the note.

I wonder if it's worth it to reprogram the stuff to use Zip instead? Sure the same bug can't happen with Zip?

Okay, I've re-done it... This time, it's no longer using PEAR TAR to compress the folders, it directly uses the Linux tar command.
As a result, the compression ratio isn't as good (619Kb for the latest rev as opposed to 613Kb for the one before), but it's not very important.

Could you test again, please..? (Don't forget to delete all of your 0-byte files before you install, thanks!)

I have a problem with this mod I wanted to know if you could help.

At the bottom of every page weather loged in or not under the SMF copyright details it says.

How can i get rid of it

I would suggest you don't. The copyright IMO should be there as it recognises the hard work which is put into the mod.

TheListener

I have just added a members pic to the gallery but all I get is a square.

When I click on where the pic is supposed to be all I get is a screen which says 'File not found'

lc62003

I'm not sure which rev this occurred, but....now when you click a thumbnail, the 'details' and 'zoom' links in the bottom right corner are not visible until you mouseover.  This is no big deal to me because I know they're there.  It isn't so obvious to a user though.  Is this by design?   :)

Nao 尚

@lc62003> Nope. You should say what browser / smf / svn rev or beta you're using etc...

@brack1> you're answering to a 6-month old post, lol ;)
As for your file, are you sure you didn't change the path in the admin area? and didn't rename the main folder?

@ NAO - oddly enough I guess it turned out to be CHMOD issue, although at first, I did do 777 to mgal_data recursively to all folders.  Thanks for your help anyways, to my frantic reply :P

I tried those simple steps first and even deleted the cache and it was giving me problems.  I did the CHOMD to all folders again to 777 and it was working.  Stupid temperamental servers...
