Here is the issue, if  i post 5 vids, 3 end up 16:9 wide screen 2 end if 4:3 format ... now this does not in no way affect performance, it's just an aesthetic craving i have when all display at the same 16:9 format

It's still Aeva... Just a very old version (2008?), back when it was maintained by Karl Benson, and didn't have any additional feature.

I remember when people asked me whether I could merge my mods so that they wouldn't have to update them both at the same time (since I used to release a lot of updates to both of them.)

Anyway -- I'll be updating AeMe and Foxy! in the weeks to come, but I'm still on my personal break. Need to breathe, etc. So, even over at noisen.com, support might be slow to come, if it ever does. I spent the weekend in the south of France and am recovering from the relatively long round trip with plenty of things done in the middle...

This is why it wasn't showing up correctly on the Aeva section... I was writing the normal way, in the Aeva.portuguese_pt-utf8.php and Modifications.portuguese_pt-utf8.php.

No. You just need to save your files in UTF8 format. Not all text editors can do it. If you had to use entities every time you write something for UTF, it would be pointless. UTF8 is there to save space, not take more.

as for you Jay...   I don't know what to say. I installed Aeva into 4 boards lately, with no trouble at all...I have no idea what you mean "it did not work".  **HOW** did it not work? If you need to ask for help, then *SPECIFICS* are needed.

First lemme say I understand the frustrations on the part of all authors about supporting their stuff at no charge.  One of the systems I maintain is a "keep in touch system" for former Tech Reps, over 500 members and while I constantly get thank you notes for maintaining it, none of the 500 can be bothered to post stuff on the system.

I have been at it for over 8 years on this particular system, I put in SMF originally in the hopes that it would result in some self generating content, sad to say this has not happened.

I do not consider myself to be a newby at this point, but at the same time I am not a PHP, MySQL, XHTML, CSS professional.  I usually haunt the message board looking for clues before posting anything and most times have been able to figure out my problems, but sometimes I do need to ask for suggestions.

I think I saw an Aeva FAQ posting as a sticky topic at the top of this thread, I think this is a great idea, searching on SMF seems to not always get you to what you are looking for, a place where common problems are listed along with clues towards the fix is probably a good idea for all mods.

I have several problems in getting Aeva to work, this is across multiple systems, and symptoms are different from system to system, at this point I think it is probably because of the particular mods that are installed and possibly because some to the sites are a fresh install of RC2 or RC3 and some are upgrades from the 1.x series.

One thing that seems to be common to all sites is an error message during install attempts.



I went in and added the stuff in Subs.php manually and still got the error message, I went ahead and did the install and the only result was a non-working media button on the main menu. when I did an uninstall almost every step errored out.

This morning I tried it again before responding, and much to my surprise this time it appears that I have at least partially installed it on one site, need to go play with it and see what works and what don't.

I am running Gallery lite and Gallery Pro on most of the sites I maintain, I got an install to work partially on one of the other systems, and tried to run the convert program with no luck due to a missing element in one of the tables according to the error message.

I checked the official support site and either there or here saw a note that the author was going to check into why he was getting so many comments that the convert module was not working. Never saw mention of that after that, and checking this morning cannot find where I saw that comment.

there is no ad handling built in... you would have to modify the aeva template file yourself.

Copy the 'Aeva.english.php' to your PC, change it to UTF-8 and upload it to the same directory with the name 'Aeva.english-utf8.php'.
