I've searched this thread and couldn't find the answer to this....

How do you make a general album that isn't registered to a certain "owner" like in SMG 2.0.5?  I just want a bunch of albums that my users can upload to.

Nao 尚

It *will* be registered to a 'certain owner'. Just set it up so that anyone can post to it (in its settings page), and create a dummy user account named 'Community' or something that will own the album (or just edit the album data in the database to set member ID to 0 or something.)

(Well, I know I'm no longer providing support here, but I'm bored this morning, so everybody shut up :P)
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

I went to your other site and looked around for the support area, however you have a notice there that says support for Aeva only not SMF related problems.

Is there anyplace I can go for support in getting Aeva to run on SMF at this point?

Are there any plans for documentation for this Mod ?  What I have in mind is some kinda small guide with an admin section about setting up and tweaking operation after it has been installed, and a section for users about how to do the standard stuff the module is capable of

Yes.

...Over there.
I said I'm providing support for AeMe (which only runs on SMF...), but not for SMF itself (issues related to YOUR own mastery of the SMF software.) That's all.

There are plans for a FAQ, but for now, the readme file is all you'll get. It's already quite complete as it is.

All of the admin settings have their own help text below them...

I was able to finally get Aeva working, or at least I think it was working.

Able to put a link to a You Tube item in a gallery and saw it embed, then when I went back into the Gallery and selected the item saw the thumbnail with a clickable arrow to start the play back.

Pretty much the same thing in the message forums, just putting in the URL to the U Tube item saw it embed, then when I went back and read the message saw pretty much the same as I saw with items added to the gallery.

Now something has changed in the system, when I go to the gallery, or to a message with an embed in it I only see a clickable link.

When I click on the link it takes me to You Tube and displays the item, but the appeal on my system is having the thumbnail show up and then seeing the item display on my system.

Usually reliable sources have it that I have made one of my usual dumb mistakes and changed something in the configuration files. Have gone back through all the config files and cannot seem to find anything that looks wrong or anything that I think was changed.

Can anyone give me a clue what to try next ?  The only thing I can think of is to do an uninstall then reinstall, however I really dread doing that in fear that the SMF monster will leap out and get me

Thanks in advance for helpful suggestions

Late Night Update - Fixed, at least for the moment
I got my stuff in the right bags, and tried the uninstall/reinstall and much to my surprise, it seems to have worked.

Now if only I could find the directions to crate a template to embed "Very Funny Ad of the day"

Does anyone know hos to disable video upload to my server? Thanks!

As admin I have added an album. I put a picture in it. I think I have permissions set so guests and members can look at the album. Where is the album displayed? How is it displayed? I dont see it anywhere or anyway to see it except in the admin panel.

Thanks

Mick.

I believe you need to 'feature' it when looking at the album.

winky100

I have featured set to yes. But I still cannot see it excpet in the admin panel.

Dont forget, besides member permissions, theres also album permissions.;)

winky100

When I am admin I have a Media option in my menu bar. If I log in as a normal member there is no "Media" option in the menubar.

I have permissions set as the default that comes when you install Aeva.

winky100

I have it now.

You were right. it was permissions.

I had to go to the Members->Permissions (under smf not aeva) and edit the Guest Profile to be able to access Gallery.

Thanks For your help.

Mick.

Are you sure you 'checked' "Access Gallery" in member group permissions?

Hi Guys,

Just got the mods installed. I can't seems to get the "Media" shows up on the menu bar even I have tried with the admin and a normal user account. Permission was given to the Guest, Normal User.. I suppose the admin should be seeing it right?
