Well there was no conclusion to that "bug" and really the only person who even noticed there was a "bug" was winky100...

I'm lost as to what his problem even was? I'm not sure how it relates to mine.

Would you happen to have any ideas of things I could try to get this to work? So many people have this program running and functioning perfectly... I'm hoping there is something I can do to fix this.

I'm gonna go through and manually edit the files and hopefully I find something.

If you're installing on a fresh forum, there is no reason generally you shouldn't be able to have SMF do it for you, rather than editing the code manually...


coldy316: What exactly did you try and change or add? You can edit it from within the admin panel normally, but since you've edited the file itself, go to Admin > Maintenance > Routine > Empty the file cache

ihatecfinch: Ultimately it's a bug under some circumstances of permissions where instance of making a folder, it makes a file instead of the same name. Nao is aware of it but can't seem to reproduce it (which is fairly essentially to fixing it, usually)

Not sure what to suggest though.

Yeah I saw another thread where someone had the same problem... He upgraded his aeva and it was fixed... If only I could be so lucky.

Well, then just pay $50 for the pro version. Or $80 for the pro+video version.
Or pay someone to fix my mod on your server.
Or try another server.
Or try harder on the current one.
Or live with it.

Well obviously I'm not completely out of opportunities....

Let's see I was told this was a bug and if Arantor didn't have an idea of what my issue then who else would? If this is infact a bug that no one can seem to replicate than who the hell am I supposed to pay to fix this issue? I was also told that I would most likely have this issue with SMF Gallery Pro as well so why would I go pay for that when I'm obviously having some sort of issue.

I just thought this was where I posted for help right? I didn't feel I was being out of line I would just like for this to work. I made it clear I don't have a ton of experience with this kind of thing. It's not like I sit on here and hold my hand out for all the free help I can get. Obviously I have exhausted every option I could think of which is why I was here.

I understand this is simply freeware and you guys opt to deal with the issues people have and have to deal some some people that can be a real pain. It's not like I don't appreciate having these mods available but seriously if you don't want to help then just tell me. I'll just seek help elsewhere which is fine. If there was an option to pay for help somewhere on this board I would have already paid. Money isn't the issue here the issue is I would just like this to work. Hey - I'm loving this mod and it works perfectly for me with no set up issues Thank you.

I have checked as far as my limited brain capacity allows to see if I can set it so that when a member joins my forum, they are automatically allocated an album rather than them having to set up their own (although they will have the option to set up more albums if they wish). The forum isnt really for internet savvy people so I need to make it as idiot proof as possible.

Is there a setting that creates an album automatically when a member joins without admins having to do so manually for each member, or having each member do so themselves?

Ask him HERE. I can't speak for him, but I have a feeling he'll help you out. Especially if you offer him a couple bucks It's not really the money with him. It's the idea. This isn't his bug.

Nao mentioned install-1.1.xml, but all I can do is stare at its code in list files and that's it. It isn't a file for some reason on my server too. So I'm lost X.x...

How do I have a link named "Media" on top?

Please attach the index.template.php for your theme and I'll see what I can do, but NAO is right. It would be to your great advantage to learn at least some troubleshooting and editing yourself. There's no way he can do everybody's edits for them. He'd be planted in his seat all day doing nothing else.

Right and this is why I was hoping you could help ^^;... See my idea is NOT to just ask for help, say ty, and leave. I wanted help so I can see what you guys did, learn from it, and be able to repeat it again ^^.

You've got a backup here. If for some reason this doesn't work (but I think it will) then replace it with the one from your post. Or just make another backup. If it works I'll tell you what I did

I keep thinking it has to be at the end of this line in modifications.english.php:

but changing it doesn't change the displayed text in the menu. I even tried from another machine to make sure it wasn't some caching issue. I checked apc_stat too to make sure it was enabled. This has got me goin now.
