How odd, since I did just that on my own sites and it worked exactly as expected (one is using Aeva Lite, one on Aeva Media 1.3 as I haven't gotten round to updating, one on Aeva Media 2.10 and one on the developmental build of Aeva, though that one already had the line changed)

woolly bugger

Use earlier, Javascript-less, embedding system
Only use if you have compatibility issues

The default setting for this was YES, switched to NO and now it is working with the youtu.be/video links...

oh if only I knew to check that FIRST [bang head]

Hi all,

First sorry my bad english,

I installed lastest versions Aeva mods on my smf 2.0 RC5 forum, fist installed Aeva Lite 7.1.708, once completed I installed Aeva Media 1.4c.

Since this action my forum is no visible, no errors, only white screen, you can see here hxxp:netdrivers.es/foro/index.php [nonactive]

Now I understand my error installing both mods... but I hace no acess to any menus, and I cant unnistall anything.

I glad you if you could indicate me how files I have to delete / modify, or any better proceddure.

Thanks!

Arantor

You're not supposed to install them together. Aeva Media INCLUDES Aeva Lite. It even tells you to remove all versions of Aeva before installing Aeva Media.

Now you have to go through, like Manual Installation of Mods and manually remove all traces of Aeva Media then uninstall Aeva Lite.

Hello all,

just call me nervous nelly lol

I have SMF 1.1.13 installed and I have SMF Media Gallery 2.0 beta 4 installed. Its been installed forever. And its been working great forever too... but as you know it is depracated and lately I am seeing more and more deprecated errors in my forum error logs.

I really want to upgrade this but I am so nervous about it.

1. I am unsure of how to uninstall it.

2. I am worried that I will lose the 4000 images and videos uploaded to it.

3. I am worried I will break my site.

I am hoping i can get some information about the uninstall of my old gallery and install of the Aeva Media 1.4c

Please help me?

Thank you

The important thing is to remember to backup both your database and your files then if it all goes amiss you should be fine  ;)

Ive already been through the last dozen pages and my answers are not there. All I see are people posting problems with their already installed Aeva 1.4.  Thats why I posted my question. I didnt pay charter membership to be told to dig through everyone elses headaches to try to weed out the answers I need to keep my site running properly. You useless response is not appreciated at all. Thank you.

I asked a few questions that I need help with, I would appreciate to get some answers to those questions from someone who can help me please. Thank you.

definitely will do that. :D

but not sure how i would go about removing my old version... do I just uninstall from "Packages" panel?

My biggest concern are the 4000 media that are already there. Will the uninstall remove those?

Will Aeva 1.4 just imprt all my current media in SMG? I woudl really like to know that. Someone please let me know about this.

having a charter membership does not mean you will get any better support on the public boards, and especially when asking for support for mods, which are provided by the author of the mod almost solely.

You mean a mod author who's been post banned?

it goes for any mod author, a charter membership has no effect on support for mods.

he was banned???

my sole gripe was the response that told me to search. Ive been on this site for years and have been using SMF for years. I know the routine. if I would have found my answers via a search, Id not have posted my questions...

my version of SMG is tossing tons of errors (php 5.3.5 doesnt like it) and I know its only a matter of time before it stops working... I woud like to get it upgraded asap so I can avoid losing all my data/media.

Arantor

Yes, he was post banned a bit back out of a dispute he had with the team.

The mod's page explains what's happening with Aeva in terms of support and so on, and the general lack of it. (Even those who have access to the paid Aeva support board are not guaranteed support)

As for your current question, back everything up, uninstall SMG, install Aeva 1.4c. Job done. Though honestly I'm not even sure Aeva 1.4c won't throw errors on PHP 5.3.5 (since SMF itself isn't entirely compatible IIRC)

and when copying your 4K images make sure you do that as binary and not ascii or your backups will be worth zero  ;)

can you explain what you mean please?   :)

When I uninstall SMG is it going to remove the tables from the database? Will I lose all my albums and the structure of my gallery and have to recreate them from scratch?

No, it won't, just like most mods.
