One thing I notice... when using the button on the left,  it will only allow you to upload to a single album... the one you are in.  Clicking the selection from the drop down menu allows you to select ANY of the albums from a drop down menu.  BUT,  by the time you get to that the error is already generated at page load (the sizes are missing from the 4 accepted formats at top).

You mean, like I already said?

QuoteAny way to force the drop down to simply go to the same place as the menu?

Uh... 'it's a non-trivial rewrite' should have been the clue here :/

The quota should be correct, it's simply that it doesn't display it properly if I remember rightly.

I figure I'll go in and hack away and see what I can break and/or fix.  :)

Care to give me a hint as to which file this specific drop down is associated with?  What's the worst that could happen?

:)

PS: Yes,  I backup.

Arantor

I have no idea, I never touched that code. Good luck finding all the bits it's related to, though, you will need it.

Well now CRAP...

All i did was upload a 16MB jpg file via the drop down menu to see if it would error out... it didn't.  It uploaded.  I then deleted the HUGE image file that was uploaded and...

My forum is dead... it's all over the place...

This is the error being thrown:

QuoteGot error 28 from storage engine - check database storage space or contact the server administrator.
File: /home/ahaforum/public_html/Sources/Aeva-Subs.php
Line: 3120

Every page is affected from the home page (Simple Portal) to the forums to the quiz everything.

Help!

FrizzleFried

Depending on where you go:

QuoteGot error 28 from storage engine - check database storage space or contact the server administrator.
File: /home/ahaforum/public_html/Sources/skin.php
Line: 1022

Is at the bottom of the arcade... all jacked up.

FrizzleFried

Hehehe... evidently it was a problem with the host... something about the /tmp directory having issues or something  It was simply a coincidence that I was playing around with Aeva (or perhaps my 16MB upload pushed it over the edge somehow.)  I hate when that happens.

:)

FrizzleFried

Welp... pointing the drop down to the same location as the button IS much harder than it looks.  However,  removing the entire option to upload via the drop down menu isn't.

Find (in Avea-Gallery.php which is inside the SOURCES folder):

'post' => array(
'enabled' => !$user_info['is_guest'],
'title' => 'aeva_add_item',
'href' => $galurl . '?action=media;sa=post',
'icon' => 'camera_add.png',
),

Replace with:

// 'post' => array(
// 'enabled' => !$user_info['is_guest'],
// 'title' => 'aeva_add_item',
// 'href' => $galurl . '?action=media;sa=post',
// 'icon' => 'camera_add.png',
// ),

That simply removes the ability to add an item via the drop down menu.  While the functionality it provides is nice,  the hundreds of errors I have to delete each week is a pain in the ass... so out it comes.  Let them click the ADD AN ITEM button instead.

NOTE: This is for the PRO/COMMERCIAL version... not the free version available here which doesn't have this functionality to begin with.

Right now, my problem is with the embedding feature. For some reason, when using aeva embedding with SimplePortal's article system, the first article on the page with show the link to the video, rather than the actual video. Once you refresh the page, it's usually fine. Until you close out of your browser, and return to the site. Then you have the same issue. I'm not sure what the problem is, because it only affects the first article on the home page. The ones below it display the videos perfectly. Has anyone had this problem?

Well I would if I was having it hosted at the moment. However, right now I'm just running it off a folder on my desktop until I've ironed out all the bugs.

FrizzleFried

Default the COMMENTS section of the gallery is collapsed.  How could I change it to either (A) be expanded or (B) eliminate the collapse/expand routine and always just show?

I believe this is the part of the code that affects this:

<span class="ie6_header floatleft"><a href="#" onclick="return aevaSwap(\'', $settings['images_url'], '\');">
<img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/expand.gif" alt="+" id="quickReplyExpand" class="icon" />
</a>
<a href="#" onclick="return aevaSwap(\'', $settings['images_url'], '\');">', $txt['aeva_comment_this_item'], '</a>
</span>

Specifically the onclick part I do believe.

Thanks!

Arantor

I honestly have no idea and I have no time to go through the code when it's already been heavily modified in the one codebase I do really care about.

Since upgrading to this newest version of Aeva Media now all my videos don't embedd anymore. Please visit this thread on my website for reference...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Arantor

Don't put the video in center tags or if you do, do them like:

http://video/

Aeva does not generally embed videos when they are not the first thing on the line.

Thanks for your response.

I had never seen this issue before on my website in the last 3 years, but since updating recently to the newest Aeva Media I noticed this started happening and now all my older threads on the site don't have video embedded anymore and it looks very lame.

Arantor

There is a setting for embedding in the middle of sentences, however it is off by default.

What did you upgrade from, exactly?

I recently upgraded to 1.1.16 and I had an older version on Aeva, so I upgraded it as well.

It appears activating the "Enable Embedding in Sentences" has corrected my problem.

Hi.

I'm using SMF 1.1.16 and Aeva Lite 7.2. Seems to me that Youtube-Videos that are linked with secure http (like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajmivpFVTXc [nofollow]) don't get embedded. Once I remove the "s" from https, the videos get embedded correctly. I looked through the options but either I missed someone or embedding these videos is currently not possible. Or is it something else?

Regards,

n0NAMe

P.S.: I find this mod extremely useful! Thanks a lot.
