Grudge,

How strange, i have tried all 4 RC2 templates and in IE and FF and refreshed both and cleared cache and still the downloads only contain the themes default and classic, no babylon

Thanks

Dan

Grudge

Dan,

I downloaded German this time for comparison, and I definetely still get them all! I think we'll have to agree to disagree and see if anyone else finds the same ???

Ok I just downloaded the RC2 package from the downloads and everything is there.  I guess if you want I can send it to you.  You got the upgrade package right?

It is very good, I like it a lot. The Core theme is super but, there is always a but, I'm not sure that it should have been the default theme. I think that could cause a few hiccups with mods.

Trekkie101

Ive downloaded the spanish files for a test of this, it seems:

Babylon and Default are the same images, is this what you mean? There are no new images for the new theme (Core)?

Core doesn't use graphics from what I see, its a text based interface that uses some clever theming to make it look like images :)

To ensure the most optimal preformance the following changes were made:

  • Made it much easier to integrate SMF with other software.

what you mean exactly? have you changed/added anything to support mambo/joomla integration, as now most users use joomla-smf integration from joomlahacks.com and i'd like to know if there are some critical changes...

again Thanks and happy new year!!

The upgrade went fine, however I made a new copy of the "Default" theme so I could modify it and the images are not in their proper directories...

EDIT: Nevermind, I just downloaded the Full Install and copied over the images that way...

Grudge,

I am running SMF 1.0.5 with MKPortal M1.0, will this upgrade be safe for that combination?  I know you don't do MKPortal, but wondered if you had heard any problems.  I've not modified ANY of the code in either SMF or MKPortal.

Thanks,

Brian

Grudge

w5ami, I'm honestly not sure how 1.0.5 integrates with MKPortal, I recommend checking the Bridges board before upgrading - I expect RC2 will integrate much like RC1 did.

Gandalg, Orstio has written a new bridge for RC2. I'm sure he'll make a post about it shortly.

nokonium, The NDT only changes relatively few templates in any great way, so hopefully it won't break many mods.

For those early birds who got RC2 before the others, you may want to check out this topic. It appears a few problems slipped through:

Have loaded it on a prod site (I like to live dangerously) - no problems there (it lives within mkPortal) - I like the generate reports facility - showed me that all my permissions are messed up!  :-[

Hey amanoffewwords, that is good news!  What version of SMF did you have previously, and which MKPortal are you running?  I almost took the dangerous plunge too, but backed out until I found someone like you...  :D

Could you update the board news so it says RC2?
