QuoteAttention of PDX-DK theme:
This theme doesn't correspond to the version of SMF that you are using. This theme is made for SMF 1.1.

And I have SMF 1.1.1
Where's the problem and how do I fix it ?  :)

how are the varied css assigned for deciding the color of the theme?  :-[

If I understand you right, this should answer your question:
QuoteIf you have questions:
PLEASE have a look into the readme.txt coming with the theme first.

smacktalk

Do you have the images in other languages (Spanish)?

padexx

Hey, I decided to check back and find this.  Good work, panic!  I'll have to do a quick 'diff' and factor in my own modifications, mostly for the portal page I made, and do a quick modification to have my logo work in both dark and light colors.

Thanks for the rewrite! :)

i am trying to use turkish with this theme but i get this message on the top of the page when i make the forum Turkish....

" Attention of pdx-dk theme:
You should put "Modifications.turkish.php" on the "languages" directory ( http://www.***.org/smf/Themes/pdx-dk-09/languages/ ) in the theme of pdx-dk.

Copy "Modifications.english.php" of the "languages" directory of PDX-DK onto the first. Next, rename it according to the language for which you use the file. "

i get a copyright error... i replaced the everything with news ones but couldnt solve the problem. Please Help!

QuoteYou have to do the following steps to still see all the extra menus used for this theme after changing the board language (english) to your personal language.
Download Modifications.english.php. Next, rename downloaded "Modifications.english.php" to Modifications.YOUR_LANGUAGE.php. And, up-load Modifications.YOUR_LANGUAGE.php to ".../languages/" directory of the theme. Done.

Where YOUR_LANGUAGE may in your case be turkish.

Also look into the file if you want to translate the texts.

About the copyright error: Did you make any changes to the index.template.php?

PLAYBOY

got it. Thanks.
now here is another little question;
most of my mods doesnt work with this theme and the new version of SMF.
so i wanna uninstall em but it says, unable to find the package. i put the packages in packages folder but it still cant find the packages to uninstall. how can i get rid of them? 1.1.2.

PLAYBOY

about the copyright,
i still have that problem. but i get copyright error in all the languages except english.
i didnt do anything in index.template.php

padexx

Hmm, that copyright attention message is strange. Checket over here with two foreing languages. All fine!
Are you using the right version of the theme with the right version of SMF?
Did you install the language files properly?

blastreach

Hey,

Great theme!  I've tweaked everything the way I like it with text size, header configuration, etc. and ready to roll out to my member base as the default theme.

However, right before pushing the button, I went to my home page to find that the theme is affecting my overall site template.  It is completely blowing away the Main Body and Right module position in my Joomla 1.0.12 install (only this theme is doing so).

SMF: 1.1.2
Joomla!: 1.0.12
Theme: pdx-dk 09i

Anyone with a fix would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Sean

Hi,

you are using this theme in wrapped mode, right?
This often happens if the same styles are used in the Joomla and SMF themes.

renaming these styles is the easiest method...

Thanks for the quick response.

I am attempting to wrap this install.

Call me an idiot (okay, maybe something nicer) but when you say "renaming these styles is the easiest method..." what exactly do you mean?

I'm dangerous enough with CSS to find my way around and change things (Like a blind man changing a light bulb...when you feel the shock, you're there).

Thanks in advance for humoring me.

Quotebut when you say "renaming these styles is the easiest method..." what exactly do you mean?

As I said before this is a style conflict.
If in example both themes (the Joomla and the SMF) use #mainbody as style definition one gets overwritten by the other if you "wrap/include SMF into your Joomla".

At the moment I am not sure if the SMF-styles are overwriting the Joomla-styles or the other way round. But that's unimportend. What you can do is rename one of the styles responsible for the "display error".

i.e.:
if both themes use the id #mainbody change this in for example your Joomla-stylesheet to #j_mainbody and in the Joomla Template change <div id="mainbody"> to <div id="j_mainbody">

I really like the colors of this theme but when I install it I am missing the reply, notify, mark read/unread buttons.  Without these, the theme is pretty useless.  What is going wrong?  I see the .gif files in the image folder but they are not being used.  What should I do?

padexx

Hi,

two questions:
do you use a custom language?

DB:
tf8 or ISO?

amstar

Hi panic,

I did not customize the theme at all except that I changed the modifications.english.php file name to modifications.english-utf8.php because I was prompted to do so after switching to the theme.  So I guess the answer to your 2nd question is uft8

Maybe I misunderstood these instructions:

QuoteAttention of pdx-dk theme:
You should put "Modifications.english-utf8.php" on the "languages" directory ( http://**/languages/ ) in the theme of pdx-dk.

Copy "Modifications.english.php" of the "languages" directory of PDX-DK onto the first. Next, rename it according to the language for which you use the file.

I understood this to mean that I needed to rename the existing file.  Is there another file I need to install over or in addition to the "Modifications.english.php" already in the languages folder?

I hope this helps I am a total noob when it come to css.
