Thank you for your reply, honestly I tried that yesterday and it still gave me the graphic player - I'll try it again - I was wondering if maybe I have something checked in the admin panel which is allowing it to bypass this command...

I just tried again and it is still showing!  Very odd?  Any thoughts?

I am not sure why it isn't working. Maybe something didn't go right at install? I would recommend posting on the support boards of the mod. http://aeva.noisen.com/ Click the "British" flag if you need English. The mod other supports his mod on that forum. Good luck.

I'm on smf 1.1.11  (evrything is working fine).  Just 1 problem arrised that i just recently noticed.

How do you make it so the videos ONLY embedd in the media gallery, but not "auto-embedd" in posts and topics on the forum?

A major problem popped up, so I had to remove the auto embedding feature to fix youtube links in topic on the forum.  But, now the videos in the media gallery only show as links as well.

I'd like the videos in the Media Gallery to be embedded vidoes, but not affect anything youtube related in posts and topics on the forum.

Does anyone know why ogg files uploaded to the media gallery won't play in IE? The player just fails to load. Works fine in FF.

I LOVE this mod. It has really matured very nicely since I first started using it. I now have hundreds of pictures and videos hosted on it for my students to view. (And plan to add many more!)

Can you explain to me more fully how the "direct link" feature works? I have a Moodle website and I'd like to be able to use the direct link feature to embed a video that is on the forum into Moodle.

However, Moodle requires an extension that it recognizes (otherwise it just displays it as a link).

Example:

When I pull up a video in my forum, it shows the direct link as something like this -
http://myforumURL/MGalleryItem.php?id=337

However, Moodle needs something like this to work properly -
http://myforumURL/videoname.flv

I'm capable of figuring out what the link is and manually coding it into Moodle. That's not the issue. However, the Moodle site is going to be made accessible to hundreds of teachers who are technophobes. It has to be as simple as possible for them. Can the direct link be the actual direct link? (The URL?) Or is the direct link only intended to be used within the forum itself?

Reason I'm asking is that I really like how this mod allows ratings and comments. I want teachers to be able to go to the forum, rate videos, make comments about them, then pick the ones they like and embed them into their lessons on Moodle.

Possible bug/issue -

When doing mass-uploads often it will get hung up on a video after it is uploaded. Happens maybe 50% of the time. Not a real big deal as I just cancel that one and continue with the rest, then go back and re-upload it. I haven't figured out any consistent way to make the problem occur, it just "happens."

Again, thanks for a FANTASTIC mod. Appreciate all the effort you've put into it.

I was using YouTube BBCode... that showed videos using full paths or just video codes too

in aeva both methods works ok?

Will I need to uninstall YouTube BBCode? previous install aeva?

yes, you will have to uninstall youtube and any other media-type mods.

no, aeva does nto trigger on just the youtube code, only on the full url.

how to Embed video like youtube with continous playback. i.e non stop video using avea?

for example, I want to place a youtube embeded youtube video in my post with avea but i want it to play continously. appreciate whoever can help me. Thanks

As far as I know there is no setting in AEVA to make a YT video loop. This setting would be set by YT and I doubt they would enable it by default. None of their videos loop on their site.

Moving this topic to the AEVA area where it will hopefully get more responses.

Thanks but I stayed searching for it for a few hours. So i found new way of doing it .
For those people who does not know.
1. Create an account with youtube.
2. create a playlist.
3. add videos to your playlist
4. use this code as example and change the numbers whatever your playlist shows in the url

Note: to view the video you need to change the F3282.......... to your playlist number

it is just to end with just youtube links in messages content, for users of youtbe bbcode mod that wants to switch to aeva... that mod adds bbcodes in messages, so aeva will not work until they are erased (and that youtube bbcode mod uninstalled, of course)

I didn't read the code closely enough....   You are right, what you have done will replace the yourtube mod with full urls so that aeva will work.

I thought that you were asking to do it on the fly instead of doing a global replace in the database...

Ok..Update to the collation problem.

I finally found the solution which should have been to change the collation value of Aeva tables manually in the forum's db. I tried that but still I am facing the same problem. Now what to do?

And request to Nao - Please mention about this collation problem in Readme...took me quite a few time to find the root of the problem. If you can provide a workaround/fix or atleast mention in the readme about this, it would be of big help.
