General support topic for Aeva Media (Latest release: July 28, 2010)

that is right... you can not start new topics, because Nao has stopped supporting this mod on simplemachines.org. However, even if you could, hijacking someone else's thread (especially one which has already been marked as solved) is bad form and likely to be  ignored.

I have this mod installed one three different sites with no problems.

the mod page, meaning the download page for this specific mod, which not only has basic instructions, it has the sitelist instructions (downloadable) and a link to the normal support thread (which has an FAQ and the first post.)

I guess I am missing something here, I cannot post questions here because the mod is no longer supported here,  I cannot post questions on the authors site because it is support for the mod and not for SMF Integration problems, I forget if the start new topic button is available there or not.

I have attempted to install this mod on 4 sites with limited success on two, I am not sure at this point if the two sites that I have had limited success with are completely and correctly installed or not because I have never found any really good explanation of all the different things that the mod is supposed to add to my systems.

The fact that you have had trouble free installations on two sites is about par for the course I think, I have mods on my sites that went in with absolutely no problem, however I see other folks in the support areas reporting endless problems with the very same mods.

I think this is just kinda the nature of the beast, different versions of SMF following different upgrade paths, different versions of the mod, different combination's of other mods installed in different orders, and of course different hosting companies with different versions of PHP, MySQL and apache.

I guess my surprise is that it all seems to work as good as it does for the majority of people, oh, and of course I forgot to mention different themes which causes its own class of headaches.

I have been through the download page, as well as through the instructions notes and comments in the distribution files, and of course the notes available after installation. I have checked the installation directory on the operational sites, as well as doing unzips on my local machine looking for hints and kinks in the various files there.

I have not as yet found any concise direction or guidance for creating a block or skin to allow me to add files from sources not on the approved list, on your advice I will go look again, if I find something and figure out how to do it will post a note someplace reporting my discoveries.

Clarify one thing for me though, at this point, as far as I know there is NO place that officially supports this mod for operation on the SMF platform, is this correct ?

Hey guys. I'm wondering is someone could help me out. I took a screen shot of what is happening. Also, it seems some members can not see images from the gallery if they are embedded into a post. It says "Sorry, you must be connected to the server to view this file"

I am using SMF V2 RC2 with CurveBlack theme.
I have created an album but test with another user account I cannot see Media button. How can I view album from different account? Under Performance Profile/Default Profile membergroup permission was all ticked. Privacy in album checked all Read/Write. Anyone can help me? Thanks

look in Subs.php on line 1012 (or there abouts) for AeMe code that did not fully uninstall.

You probably upgraded the mod in the past without uninstalling it first. There are leftovers of a previous install. Uninstall everything manually or reinstall SMF from scratch. Next time, read the big bold red letters before pushing the small button.

now i want to unistall fully please guide me how to uninstall full i have modify sub.php and admin.php remove all aeva code

you will have to manually clear all of the Aeva code from all of the files.

Alternatively, you can upload a fresh set of SMF files from the large upgrade package of the same version (of SMF) which you are using (or restore a backup from before you installed Aeva). Do note that, uploading fresh files will remove *ALL* mods which you have installed.

I didn't mention in earlier post, I installed AEVA Media Mod on Curve Black theme but cannot see Media button by other user. Only when I login with my username which also has admin right can see the album. What went wrong and how can rsolve this?

Hey guys,  I didnt want to open a new thread for this request and I search and couldnt find the answer.

First of all I love the Mod.
Second, not problem installing is working like it should.

Here is my request. I know that adding a picture or a link from the Media to a topic or thread is as easy as typing the smg id. But Wouldt be easy when I am creating a topic or thread and I want to attach a picture from the gallery to have like an attach from Media gallery button and that it shows the pictures. Cause right now this is what Im doing so you guys get the idea.

I  uploaded pictures of my ride in the Media gallery no problem. Then I wanted to create a Thread about my ride with the Modification and Specifications of the car. After creating the thread now I want to add those pictures to the thread. But I dont have a way unless I open a second browser, go to the media album to get the image code an then continue doing that until I finish.

I hope I dont repeat myself too much but I dont know if Im been clear of my request
