You  duplicate the code for files in the \themes\default folder for matching files for the theme your are using and then only if something isn't working. At least that has consistently worked for me.

For my theme, only the index.php file needed the edits because my theme uses the rest of the files for the default theme and doesn't have them, for example.

There may be exceptions that I haven't encountered yet though. I'm still very much learning.

Nice mod but,   the mod changed my mgallery blocks i was using.  They all error out.

Are there any pre-made blocks for the gallery?

Removing the RAND and leaving empty quotes works and starts with the first images and shows them in Ascending order.  The other two do not do anything different. 

Any ideas on getting it them to show in Descending order?

Success, I deleted the old mgal_data after saving the albums to a safe place on the server, reinstalled in new directory and grabbed the mgal_data minus the albums, transferred old albums into new mgal_data and it all works, glad thats over with.

Edit:

Unable to move albums to my chosen location, click on new location and it jumps to top of list, ie; not where I want it to be.

@tbk22: Goto Admin / Auto-Embedding, and under Configuration scroll down to Maximum width for embedded videos and set it to something that works with your theme.

I'm getting a problem that I hope someone can help me with.

First any picture uploaded doesn't display. I think I saw a couple of people mention it, but I don't think I saw a response. I've check the permissions, and it looks like everything is set up right, but nada...

Can someone help me out with this?

How to "fix" this? I've read from page 66 to current and haven't found a solution.

After installing Aeva Media (Gallery & Auto-embedder) v1.0 everything seems to work fine but I when I look at the error log there is a constant stream of:
"Unable to load the 'Aeva.english-utf8' language file" error messages.

I'm not sure if this error is related to embeeded  AEVA files like youtube (all of which seem to work fine) or if it related to the Aeva photo gallery, which I'm not even using yet.

Anyway any hints or suggestions as to how to trace this error further appreciated.

Is this with videos embedded from websites or your own? If from websites make sure AM is enabled in the CP. If your own and AM is enabled it might mean that it doesn't recognize the codec the video is encoded in. At least it has for me in the past.

I am sure that I am just missing something but I no longer have thumbnails of the pictures in a gallery. Is there a setting that I am missing?

Ok, this explains a few things.

Most of my pics are indeed smaller than my preview size. For these photos, viewing the item page (that does not have a click to view in full size link) do not get view counts when viewed on the item page (but still do in hs preview). Photos that are larger than the preview size get views on both item pages and hs previews.

So, I guess this means I must reduce the size of preview images? Or is this issue something that is on the to do list?

I may try revision 212, but in my rather in-experienced case it might be best to wait for 1.1?

Try asking about it in the AEVA Support Board, since the Mod's authors and users know more about their Mods than we do.

It should be fixed in rev 212 or before. I also fixed another issue with MP3 view counts in rev 213.
