I've reinstalled Aeva, uninstalled youtube BBC mod...

I posted a youtube link in the post linked above. It should auto-embed.. right?

It should, but that assumes that:
1. it's enabled
2. that YouTube is enabled
3. that server lookups are enabled

I just tested that link on my test site, and it works as intended so it's something to do with installation on your site.

It's definitely enabled, youtube is enabled, and DNS lookups are enabled too, it says so on the admin page.

Should I screenshot my Aeva configuration page in admin?

Odd, very odd. I see nothing in there that's amiss.

As a quick thing to test, I'd start by un-checking the "Use earlier, Javascript-less, embedding system" ... should not really need that.

Turned it on when I first noticed that embedding wasn't working, it didn't help. To show you it isn't causing the problem, I've un-ticked it in the settings page and made another youtube post..

In that example the link is wrapped in a [youtube] bbc tag ... need to get rid of that I think

well, aeva detects www.youtube...     if it starts with www.safehops, then it won't be detected by aeva.

Pretty simple... and exactly as expected. If you have a mod which already interferes with the url, then how is aeva supposed to determine that it's a media link?

Well safehops is changing the link, and since Aeva auto embeds it needs to find a link name that knows not a cloaked link via safehops.  The youtube BBC works since its not an Auto embed, its a manual embed, you have tagged it with a BBC code which prevents safehops from messing with the link.

Hmm.. That makes sense... I guess I'm stupid for not realising that in the first place...

Do you think there is a way I can have both safehops and aeva..?

not easily....  You can add custom site recognition, but you have to really understand how the system works in order to parse the line within a link.

Hi everyone !

I have a question: Youtube links works great.. and I really like the plugin/mod. The problem is that under every Youtube video posted on my forum.. there's the youtube link displayed as well. I don't really want that link under the videos.. I just want the video embeded on my forum. What can I do in order to remove it ?
