You have no idea. But them's apparently the rules (unless Kindred, you want to disagree and tell me that I'm OK to post a link to <that site which shall not be named here, even in signatures>?)

EDIT:
The fixed line did not work

I looked at the page source code to make sure the youtube player link was in the new format, but it is still in the long youtube format.
In my Aeva lite setups, I am not using the earlier java-script less setting

Is the fix only for the earlier type setting?

well, a link to noisen would be appropriate, since that is the support site... (and we never indicated otherwise for noisen)

If Nao is providing support for aeva on wedge, then I suppose it works as well (however, last I checked, he was not)
The argument was based on the signatures and some people's links in posts which were basically nothing but advertisements.

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

No, there is no support on Wedge, nor is there any real support on Noisen since all Aeva's development is going into integrating it into Wedge, in fact I don't know when Nao last committed anything for Aeva on SMF, as the only thing 1.4w fixed was the youtu.be format.

(I do more Aeva support at the moment than Nao does...)

I am afraid I misunderstood what that fix was for.
I assumed that it fixed the external link that points to youtube

Looking at the fix code, I now see that it is only used to pick out the url pattern for the new shorter url format

I still have the same problem that thousands of people on the web have.
Googling this error returns thousands of cries for help without any fixes that actually work.

If the problem is affecting lots of users worldwide that aren't all using Aeva, it would tend to suggest that the problem is unrelated to Aeva... And since not all Aeva users are having trouble, it would tend to suggest that it isn't going to get fixed... (You did turn on lookups and your server supports them, right?)

EL34

Not sure what lookups are.

The player worked just fine when I first installed it a couple weeks ago.

I only came here to see if anyone here had solved the error message issue.

As a test, I embedded a youtube video into a test page on one of my servers.
For me, it plays just fine on this page
http://www.el34world.com/test.htm

It's not a pop up blocker or any sort of firewall issue
uninstalling flash and re-installing does not fix the problem.
Java is up to date
I can play the same exact same video on the youtube web site no problem.
It is not specific to any one computer, I have several PC's here and all do the same thing.
Firefox, Chrome and IE8 all result in the same error also.

I am not sure exactly when the problem started but at one time I had no problems viewing embedded youtube videos on my forums and other sites.
Note that I have SMF forums and Aeva lite installed on windows and linux servers with the same exact results.

Trying to play youtube videos on my forums and other sites results in the error shown below.

I don't think this is an Aeva exclusive problem judging by the number of people all over the web reporting the same issue.

EL34,
For what it's worth, that video played fine for me on your site, whether using Firefox 4 or IE9.

EL34

Thanks for the test
Yeah it plays fine for me too.

It's the embedded youtube players on my forums that don't play for me.
I have been asking my forum members if they have had any problems and so far they all say no

I guess I am just one of the lucky bastards.  ;D

I looked through this thread and couldn't find anything related to this problem... I cannot see videos posted with IE but when viewing the site with firefox/opera ect they show up just fine. I have Avea Media installed, SMF 2.0 RC4 with the latest security patch. This issue seemd to just start within the last couple of days. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Aeva Media 1.4w is been cracked. Be aware!

My gallery was hacked twice. All photos are lost.

Anyway to get this to pull the HTML5 video off Youtube and autoembed that?  For example, I know this code if placed above the embed code will pull the HTML5 video for viewing on iphones, ipads, etc...

<script type-"text/javascript">
var agent=navigator.useragent.toLowerCase();
var use HTML5 = (agent.indexOf('iphone')!=-1 | | agent.indexOf('ipad')!=-1);
if (useHTML5) {
document.write("");
} else {
document.write("");
}
</script>

What makes you think AEVA has been "cracked"?

Arantor

And nothing to do with, say, being on a crappy shared host with all files writable to anyone on the server...?

I'm having issues creating albums on this mod. Every time I go to create a new album in the admin CP, I get this line:

Wrong value type sent to the database. Array of integers expected. (names)

YogiBear

I can't see the answer to that myself but to help solve the prob quicker we'll need to know...

1. version of SMF?

2. version of Aeva?

3. other mods installed?
SMF v2.1.4  Mods : Snow & Garland v1.4, Simple Image Upload v2.0.0,  PHP  v.8.1

Kindred

I believe that there may be a conflict between the highslide mod and aeva....   although I don't know if that is causing your problem.
