You just have to run the query in the SQL query window in phpMyadmin. Only thing you have to make sure is that you use the "smf_" prefix with your SMF instalation, and not a custom prefix.

Dragooon, maybe we should do the version stuff in a separate file, lol... Just like I'm doing with Aeva in the admin file :) At least it avoids tampering with sql stuff!
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

Running db_mgallery.php would update the version number too....

Ok, so after doing a fresh install of the RC1 files, and reinstalling the SMF Media Gallery mod, I get this when I try to upload anything:
Quote from: SMF Media GalleryAn error happened during the upload process, please try again or contact the administrator.
I never used to get this error before, and the mgal_data directory is 777'd. Any ideas? Thanks for any help you can give.

After a rocky start installing and converting this mod (All My Fault for the Rocky Start) I Really Like this Extension. Well done by the SMG Crew.

I have a couple requests for assitance and I did a complete search of the Thread first.

1. Is there a way to make the Albums Horizontal rather than Vertical. Say 3 Albums to a line?

2. How can I incorporate a Random Picture PHP Line for Simple Portal?

I am using the package parser to manually uninstall 1.5 RC 3.2 because I want to upgrade to 1.5.5 (I know I am a bit late). It says;

*  mgallery will be deleted
*  mgallery will be deleted

I see one mgallery in Themes/default and this: MGallery-getid3 in the source directory. Are these the 2 files referred to above and is it safe to delete them?

Is their support for converting SMF Gallery Pro under SMF 1.18? Or do I have to upgrade to SMF 2.0 RC1 first? I notice there is a gallery pro converter for SMF Beta 3 or something.

Thanks for the support.

SMG will convert any kind of SGP gallery, whatever the version.

Today I decided to take a short break on Aeva to make sure my current work is in the right direction. I played some DQ5 and in the end I came back to SMG, lol. (Will go back to Aeva tomorrow.)

Here's what I've been working on...

- "Move item" feature now works for user albums -- an owner will be able to transfer items from one of their albums to another. Will need to reintegrate general albums into the mix, though.

- I'm working on redoing the thumbnail boxes to use tables instead of CSS. Oh, I'm already hearing it, "heresy! anarchy! what are you doing!", but really, I don't think anyone complained when I rewrote the item pages to use a full table-based layout instead of the CSS-based layout that was in place in v1.0.x.

As a result of switching to a table-based layout, I quickly managed to fix two annoying issues:
- [smg type=box] will correctly be aligned now. I believe there was a problem with text always appearing to the right of these boxes, even when no alignment was specified. Now it'll work as expected (i.e., align=none will no longer do it the same way as align=left). Also, left-aligned boxes will be shown next to each other, without any "stairs" effects.
- this was requested a lot :) "Recent items" will now always fill the maximum width available. You'll be able to specify how many items you want *per line*, instead of per page.

It's still a work in progress, but you can see it in action over at http://media.noisen.com/
I'm mainly waiting for Dragooon's go-ahead to keep working on it. And I still don't know which version of SMG will introduce these changes.

Like it.. and don't mind the use of tables. You always know where they are ;)

At http://media.noisen.com/ I ca see you put "user albums" next to "albums". Never saw those two together in my gallery. New function of some kind? I really miss that people can always jump to "User albums" from the top gallery menu. As it is now, they have to go to the main gallery menu, then click on "User albums".
People are missing the point in my forum.

Hey, just updated my test forum from 1.5.4 to 1.5.5 and I've got a problem.

At first I had the mass upload problem which was fixed by adding an .htaccess file to the forum root. After that the upload would finish, but once it did finish, now I get the error depicted in the attached screen shot. Before you ask, yes the permissions are 777.

When I updated from 1.5.3 to 1.5.4, I had the mass upload error, but after adding the .htaccess, it worked fine. Which is why this error is confusing me and I don't know what is causing it.

Nao, installed and converted from SMF Gallery Pro- no problems. Is there any way to use SSI or something to display a random image from the gallery on my home page?

Thanks

Yeah ;)

I wanted to ask everywhere first, because I know Dragooon is all for semantics, and I'm more old-school, so when we worked on v1.5, we often had small clashes on that ;)
He PMed me that he was okay with the change, so we're good. Thanks, Dragooon! (I'd never do such drastic changes without his approval.)
This will be in v1.6.

I don't get it... Can you be more specific? I don't see any difference compared to any other SMG install...

Hmm, I thought you had changed something as your text for useralbums syas "Albums - User albums" where only "User albums" is linked.
In my forum I only see "User albums", but it might be because I have no "General album" set up.

My point is that I have been running SMG for more than a month now, I saw several (maybe 10) members being in the gallery in the "who's online", but all images have only been viewed 0-1 times.
So my point is that I think people are missing the point with the "User albums" and they may think it's only some kind of headline and not a link to click.
The only images that has been watched more than a few times are the "Latest images". If you click into one of those as a new user, you miss the point that there are also a lot of user albums avaliable.

So a link to "Uuser albums" in the mainmenu of the gallery might wake people up. And as mentioned I miss the link myself as a kind of quicklink.

Is your link obviously clickable? (i.e. underlined)

We should enable this page to show all pics via page index links. We probably will... The homepage needs an overhaul for sure. I'm only getting started.

Please have it so the home page can show the latest albums, please pretty please!!

Uh... Well I dunno... It's a whole new feature I guess... Easy to write but how should we put them in the layout, etc... It's harder to say.
Also, since Dragooon didn't add a "creation date" in the first place, I could only sort albums by: first item, and latest item. Just like for a topic... Which means, if an album is empty, it won't appear. Which is good, I think.
