if im not mistaken, shouldn't you just need to use the package manager and it works straight away,no edits required, that's what's great about this mod.

If using SMF2, there's a checkbox to enable installation in another mod.
If using SMF1, you just need to add a single line of code to your index template so that it'll show the SMG link. Big deal. O:)

Well nvm my previous posts, i've added the gallery link in the index. I have another 'problem' though. I noticed is that the right stats (top album) width is too long.
http://www.engineeringserver.com/forum/profiles/happyface-u1.html;sa,mgallery
Is there a way to move it below the image? Thanks!

I also have another question, how can i show the recent images that are uploaded in the index of my site?

Hi Everybody,

I have some problems with the MediaGallery. Actually you might figure out really quick, that it is actually a problem with the databank, but it only occurs in context with the gallery.
Ok, I have the following situation:

I do owe some webspace and an url, I am allowd to have 2 mysql databanks and I'm running a forum with the Media Gallery. It works just fine. (I just switched recently from SMF Gallery to the SMF Media Gallery).

Now I installed a second forum in a subfolder. I opened the second databank, set everything up and everything works. Next I install the media gallery without any trouble. I open up a new album, pick a picture to upload and when I click upload, I get an empty page. The picture is on the server ( my ftp client displays it all right) but not in the album. The same if I pick the multiple file upload. I can pick the files, click upload and after the first image, the scripts gets stucked somehow. the first picture is again on the server, but no in the gallery. If I remove this image, and click upload again, the next one is uploaded, but again it gets stucked.

It seems like there is some problem with puting them into the database, but everything else works... There are entries in the database, even the album is display properly. And with the exact same settings the other forum works fine. I have reinstalled the forum and mod about 20 times, tried my old version and updated it to 1.1.9, but nothing will work.
If I install the SMF Gallery, I do have the same problems. Any ideas? Are there principle problems with to galleries at the same hoster?

Thanks for any help in advance

Jocheh

Hi,

nobody replied so far. Probably I can get more help if I give more input.

I already figured out, that it works if the files I upload are smaller than 612 kb. But my image limit is way above. There is also no error message, the page just stays blank... So this makes an problem with the databank more unlikely.

Does this gives any of you a clou???

If the url and an account would help, please let me know.

Please help me

Jochen

EDIT: it does not just depend on the size. some files just work, some wont. I cannot be the filename, because if I resize it to 20% it works, to 30% it wont. but still it won't exceed any max values...

where do I find them? or where do I find the php.ini???

[email protected]

and by the way, the files on the server are called like
8_Brust_jpgea7f759145b240541155aa033f383215_extjpg

if this gives any further information...

Harvester

I have a trusted and valued member who gets an error when he tries to post a BBC embed code in his posts... the message he gets says "hacking attempt"

when I try to post the same image in the same thread I get this:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 's Recent Fishing Trip...Part 3', 1, 255), SUBSTRING('[smg id=809]', 1, 65534), S' at line 4
File: /home/.sites/28/site1/web/bassin-forums/Sources/Subs-Post.php
Line: 1536

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 1.1.9, while your database is at version 1.1.1. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.

It only happens on this one SPECIFIC thread. I can make a new thread and post the image with the bbc embed code with no problem. I can also post it to other boards no problems...

whats the deal?

For me I had to create it through phpconfig in cPanel. Change from PHP5 to PHP5 (single php.ini).  It will appear in your root then google how to change maxupload size.

If that doesn't work contact your host they may not allow you to change max upload size or have another way.

**EDIT** I should also say that when you make the change the file created might be called something different, like for me it was called php.ini.default. I just copied it and edited the copy.

ok, I'll try, but it works on my other forum quite well. It is on the same server, just in another directory (the one in /html, the new one in /html/subdir ...) I checked with both the same data bank (and another sub pre fix or what ever) and in a separate data bank

That's because you have a single quote in your topic's subject. Try to remove it and it'll work.
It's not a SMG bug, it's related to SMF.

Yeah Harvester I can confirm what Nao is saying, the same thing happened on my board a while back because the topic had an apostrophe in it's title.
