How do I fix this issue with the Header in the Gallery?  Its showing too big in my forum!  Installed 2.04b on SMF 1.1.9.

Thanks,

RGecy
Ask Dragooon... He's the one who replaced my table-based header with a div-based header... People around here know how I feel about using CSS crap as a replacement for tables... :P

@manic> there's a mass download option in smg2

@zagrom> you forgot to run db_mgallery.php

@warlock> why, you don't think that hard work deserves retribution?
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

Thanks, really appreciate that.

Next question. Is there any way to adjust the FFMPEG path in SMG? My host has it installed (and allows a custom install too) yet it's showing as not being installed.

Is this because its missing the FFMPEG-PHP addon, or should this not be essential?

Not at all.  I'd gladly pay a reasonable fee for SMG...but a million dollars seems a bit steep to me.  ;)

looks like the server did not allow the installation of the mgallery file(s)

Side note....  Upgrade your forum ASAP...  1.1.4 has known security issues which have been patched.   The current, secure version is 1.1.10

thanks, but how do i upgrade it, when i cant enter my admin area???

Kindred

I suggest that you upgrade by using FTP to upload the 1.1.10 version files (this will remove all mods that you have installed, and you can then re-apply the mods for the 1.1.10 version)

Thanks, I will see if Dragoon answers?

In the mean time, anyone else have any ideas?

Hey!

After an "extended leave" due to being extremely busy, I'm back!

First off, I must say that all the upgrades, tweaks, changes, etc. look great! I'm very excited about using it this year with my students.

I do have one question -

When I login on a test account I created for myself and I click on the "gallery" tab from the index.php screen I get this error message:

"Sorry, but you are not allowed to access the gallery"

However, AFTER I get the error message, if I click on the little gallery links for "home" or "my albums" then it loads properly.

Any idea why it's doing that? I've turned on the general permissions and also set the gallery permissions. So unless I'm missing something somewhere I don't know what's up.

Thanks for a great mod.

I had this same issue yesterday.  You have to have View Unseen Area checked under permission.  Basically when you click on the Gallery tab and there are new images, you are going to the unseen area.

Even though there are new images, do I want to go to just the unseen area?  What if there are only 1 or 2 new images?

Robert

Same answer as rgecy. :)

As for the unseen stuff, if you don't want to view all the new pics, just click the Mark all as seen button. Then you'll be directed to the gallery when you click on the gallery button next time.

Hmmm... rgecy and I are having two completely different problems.

When clicking on the "GALLERY" tab on the header I'm given the error that I can't access the gallery. However, if I ignore that error and click on the Gallery "HOME" or "MY ALBUM" tabs on the right side it goes directly to the gallery.

However, when I login as the admin, I don't get this error.

If you want a test account, just let me know and I'll create one for you to try it yourself.

Again -- what you're accessing is the unseen area. Give users the permission to visit it.

Ah, I see... so by default the Gallery takes the users straight to the "unseen area" when they click on the Gallery tab. "Unseen" means items that they have not viewed yet. Got it. Thanks, that fixed the problem.

Another question - I don't want it to default to the unseen area - as the school year progresses there will be hundreds of videos for various different classes. I don't need for students of one class to be presented with unseen videos from another class. So I'd much rather it take them directly to the albums list and they can choose their class videos directly from there. Is there a way to do this? (or basically to switch off taking them to the "unseen area" since they don't need it?

Thanks!

Rob

Nao 尚

Yeah, I see what you mean...
I will disable that feature for users who don't have access to the unseen area. It makes more sense indeed.

Quick workaround... Open Subs-MGallery.php
Search for

updateMemberData($user_info['id'], array('mgal_unseen' => $mgallery_unseen));

Replace with

updateMemberData($user_info['id'], array('mgal_unseen' => mgalAllowedTo('access_unseen') ? $mgallery_unseen : 0));

This isn't the code that'll be in Beta 5 (it will disable the extra query as well), I just figured it'd be easier for you to change it this way.

I put the work around in place - still has regular users defaulting to the "unseen area" when they access the gallery.

Rob

Nao 尚

Well, err... Double check to make sure they don't have the permission for Unseen, then ;)
Also, replace the
$user_info['mgal_unseen'] = $mgallery_unseen;
(the line just below) with the same trick...
$user_info['mgal_unseen'] = mgalAllowedTo('access_unseen') ? $mgallery_unseen : 0;
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.
